DC Studios recently showed a sneak peek of their upcoming movie, Clayface, which focuses on the Batman villain, at CinemaCon.
At the Warner Bros. presentation during CinemaCon on Tuesday night, DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran discussed the upcoming Supergirl and Clayface projects. He unveiled the very first teaser trailer for Clayface, describing it as a thrilling horror film directed by James Watkins.
The scene begins with Matt Hagen, played by Tom Rhys Harries, waking up in a hospital bed, covered in blood and bandages. He’s an actor who is facing difficult times.
The trailer ends with a chilling glimpse of Clayface shaping his hand into a mace, a move he’s known for. Even though it’s a shadowy shot, the preview confirms what many expected: James Gunn’s DC Universe will present a wildly imaginative version of Matt Hagen’s shape-shifting abilities.
The trailer for Clayface ends with Matt Hagen in a bathtub, seemingly dissolving his face like clay, set to the song “Do You Realize” by The Flaming Lips – a song director James Gunn also used in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
Fans can expect to see a trailer for the upcoming Clayface movie in either April or May. The film, a DC Studios horror thriller, is scheduled for worldwide release on October 23rd, just in time for Halloween.
