James Gunn has surprised everyone again, this time with unexpected news about the upcoming film, *Batman: The Brave and The Bold*.
In a recent interview with Jim Vejvoda from IGN, James Gunn was very open about his plans for the DC Universe reboot – even though fans are still surprised by his answer about Batman casting. After famously saying “nope” when asked if anyone was being considered for the role, Gunn explained that many big-name actors have expressed interest. “Honestly, it’s easier to find actors who *don’t* want to be Batman,” he said. “It’s the one role everyone dreams of playing.”
Batman Changes Would Fit With What James Gunn Has Already Said About The Dark Knight

Someone asked James Gunn about Damian Wayne and the possibility of seeing a Bruce Wayne in his 30s. Gunn responded that viewers will have to wait and see the movie to find out. He explained that details about Damian’s parentage and backstory are still evolving, and nothing is confirmed. He added that the specifics will be revealed in the film.
Based on recent news, it seems the planned storyline featuring Damian Wayne might not move forward. This actually aligns with comments James Gunn previously made, where he described Batman as unstable – not the typical image of a loving father. While we’ve seen compelling stories with tough father figures before (like Frank Castle, Hawkeye, and Sarutobi Asuma from *Naruto*), it wouldn’t be a bad approach. In fact, a darker take on Batman would be preferable to a storyline where he’s awkwardly out of place with Damian. Gunn seems to agree, stating he doesn’t want a comical or campy Batman. He believes he has a good idea for how to handle the character and is working with the writer to make it happen.
