James Van Der Beek, famous for his role in Dawson’s Creek, has died at the age of 48. He had been openly sharing his fight with stage 3 colorectal cancer since his diagnosis in 2023. While an official cause of death hasn’t been released, his cancer battle was well-known.
James Van Der Beek’s wife, Kimberley, announced his death on social media, sharing that he passed away peacefully this morning. She described his final days as being marked by courage, faith, and grace. She indicated that they will share more about his wishes and values later, but for now, the family asks for privacy as they mourn the loss of their husband, father, son, brother, and friend.
