Jamie Lee Curtis Is a Grandma, Daughter Annie Welcomed Her First Baby

The Academy Award-winning actress and her husband, Christopher Guest, are now grandparents! Their daughter, Annie, age 39, and her husband, Jason Wolf, welcomed a baby boy in December.

It’s been a really bittersweet time for my clients, Jamie and Christopher. While they’re absolutely thrilled to welcome their new baby, the joy is mixed with deep sadness. Sadly, the baby arrived just a week after they lost two very dear friends, Rob and Michele Reiner. It’s a lot to navigate, but they’re leaning on each other and finding strength in family.

Jamie shared on the IMO with Michelle Obama & Craig Robinson podcast that her nephew was born in December, just a week after Rob and Michele. Rob and Michele are also his godparents. Sadly, they passed away on her daughter’s birthday. Jamie said her daughter, like the rest of the family, deeply loved them and found a way to cope with the loss, as they all have.

With tears in her eyes, the 67-year-old shared that her daughter and son-in-law had a baby boy just a week later.

Becoming a grandmother has been particularly special for the Freaky Friday actress—who is also mother to Ruby, age 30—because she never expected it to happen in her life.

Jamie shared, “I honestly never imagined I’d have kids, let alone become a grandmother! I really want them to call me ‘Granny.’ It’s been such a wonderful experience.”

The actress from True Lies shared that they kept the news of her grandson’s birth quiet among friends for a few months. However, she allowed her mother to announce it publicly because she has so much love and respect for Michelle Obama.

Jamie explained that she called her daughter, Annie, to ask if it would be okay to share something personal with someone else. “I asked Annie how she’d feel about me talking about it,” Jamie said, “and she simply told me to tell the person, ‘I love her.'”

Jamie continued, both she and Michelle fighting back tears, saying, ‘You are so loved and admired that she’d say, ‘Yes, Mom, you can talk about it to Michelle Obama because she’s amazing.’ Because Michelle loves you. You showed the world what love looks like, and you brought that love with you to the White House and everywhere else you went.’

Jamie was especially happy to share the news of becoming a grandmother for the first time with Michelle Obama, because Michelle meant so much to her and to women of her generation.

She basically said that seeing what she saw reaffirmed her belief that women are amazing – and she attributed it all to a divine power. It was a really heartfelt and powerful message, honestly.

The R&B singer added, “Healthy baby boy!”

Emily Maynard Johnson, known from The Bachelorette, and the late Ricky Hendrick welcomed their daughter Romi into the world on January 23rd. This is their first child together.

The young woman, age 20, posted a photo on Instagram of herself cuddling her new baby right after giving birth. She captioned it, “Best day ever.”

Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards announced on January 17th that she and her fiancé, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, welcomed their second child, a daughter named Alanis Valentine.

Reality TV star from The Hills, who married a businessman and announced she was pregnant in July, welcomed her daughter, Nelle, on January 15th.

Lo announced the arrival of their daughter, Nelle, on Instagram. Nelle arrived two weeks earlier than expected, but Lo feels it was perfect timing. They named her after her grandmother, and she is already deeply loved.
