Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista are starring in a new action movie called The Wrecking Crew, and the trailers suggest it’s full of exciting scenes. But Momoa isn’t slowing down – later this year, he’ll be playing two beloved characters: Lobo from Supergirl and Blanka from Street Fighter. Both roles needed significant physical changes, and in a recent interview with ComicBook, Momoa shared a tantalizing clue about his transformation into Blanka.
Both Lobo and Blanka are big, imposing characters, so it was expected that creating them on screen would involve a lot of makeup and prosthetics. When asked whether he spent more time getting made up as Lobo or Blanka, Jason Momoa said it was definitely Lobo. He explained that he was completely covered in makeup for the role.

This implies that Lobo probably relied heavily on practical makeup effects, while Blanka was likely created using more computer-generated imagery – particularly if there was a significant difference in how they were made. It’s possible Jason Momoa didn’t need extensive green makeup on set for Blanka, but using CGI doesn’t necessarily mean he wasn’t wearing some makeup to help get into character.
Jason Momoa Wants To Make More Wrecking Crew Movies

Jason Momoa is looking forward to the release of The Wrecking Crew on Prime Video before his upcoming tournament, and the trailers suggest the movie was a blast to film. He immediately expressed his enthusiasm for creating sequels if the opportunity arises.
Momoa said this movie is one of his personal favorites. He still finds himself laughing at his own performance and is eager for audiences to enjoy it, describing it as a really funny, simple, and fun action film.
I wanted to pay tribute to the action movies I grew up with, like Die Hard and Lethal Weapon. It’s not quite like those, but it has a similar vibe to Tango & Cash, which I really enjoyed. We’ll see if audiences connect with it, especially a new generation. If they do, I have plenty of ideas for where we could take the story next.”
The Wrecking Crew launches on Prime Video on January 28.
