Jennifer Lawrence Reveals Her NSFW Nicknames

Jennifer Lawrence is curious about what’s in a name.

The actress, known for Die My Love, shared that her friends and family call her by a wide variety of nicknames, some adorable and others a bit risqué.

On the January 20th episode of her podcast, Good Hang, Jennifer confessed to Amy Poehler that people call her “Floffin, Nitro, and Boobs.”

“Boobs Lawrence,” the 35-year-old laughed. “The full government name.”

Jennifer didn’t explain what she meant by “Floffin” and “Boobs,” but she did share the story behind her nickname, Nitro.

“My brothers,” she shared. “’Cause I was really hyper and they called me Nitro.”

Her friends also have another nickname for her: they call her ‘Ken’ from the Barbie movie, because she jokingly says, ‘I’m just Ken.’

The award-winning actor explained, ‘I believe they use that as a way to imply I’m not very bright.’ They often respond to my questions with ‘She’s just Ken,’ almost as if to say it explains any silly things I ask.

Jennifer’s friends playfully give her nicknames and are always there to offer support, especially now that she and her husband, Cooke Maroney, are parents to four-year-old Cy and another son born in 2025.

Becoming a mom, especially the first time, I really relied on my community of other moms,” she told TopMob News in November. “It’s incredibly important to be able to connect with other women and ask things like, ‘Is what I’m experiencing normal?'”

Jennifer explained that even simple connections, like chatting with other moms at the park or in a parent-and-child class, or later, getting to know parents at her son’s school, were helpful.

Jennifer has been friends with fellow Oscar winner Emma Stone for over a decade. They first met through a mutual friend, Woody Harrelson.

Jennifer told Vanity Fair in 2016 that she initially reacted with anger when she learned how someone got her number. “She texted me she got it from Woody, and I just replied, ‘Get lost!'” Jennifer said. “But we’ve been close friends ever since.”

Jennifer and her friend texted each other daily for an entire year, and she playfully compared their connection to the movie The Notebook, saying it felt like 365 texts worth of connection. Their shared passion for acting also brought them closer.

Jennifer shared, “I truly love my work. Acting is such a core part of who I am, so I immediately feel a connection with anyone who feels the same way. Of course, personality matters, and Emma is just a really genuine and kind person.”

But their friendship really became strong when Schumer casually invited Lawrence to spend time with her and her high school friends in the Hamptons. Schumer was surprised when Lawrence accepted, but quickly realized Lawrence was just incredibly cool and fit right in with the group. She said Lawrence was “the best hang” and felt like one of the gang.

The friendship between two prominent television personalities began in 1976 while they worked at a Baltimore station. Though Oprah Winfrey was an anchor and Gayle King a production assistant, and they didn’t typically socialize due to the newsroom’s structure, a snowstorm brought them together. Oprah invited Gayle, who earned $12,000 a year, to stay at her house, and the next day they went shopping at the mall, sparking a lasting friendship—fueled, in part, by sweaters from Casual Corner.

They spent the time taking pictures, laughing during a flag football game, and chatting about everyday things—not tennis or acting, but typical “girly stuff.”

Okay, seriously, even though Game of Thrones is over, my absolute favorite thing about the whole show isn’t even the awards – it’s that I met Sophie! I mean, I was her maid of honor at her wedding to Joe Jonas back in 2019, which was amazing, but honestly, I sometimes joke that the entire eight seasons were just a really complicated way for the universe to give me a best friend. It sounds crazy, I know! But having someone like Sophie to go through all that GoT madness with was honestly the best gift ever. It really was a godsend.
