Joe Alwyn and Sarah Pidgeon might be writing a love story of their own. 

More than three years after breaking up with Taylor Swift, the actor from Kinds of Kindness was seen with her in Brooklyn, enjoying a relaxed and intimate time together.

Alwyn and Pidgeon walked hand-in-hand through New York City, dressed casually. Alwyn wore a black T-shirt, jeans, and sneakers, while Pidgeon chose a white tank top, jeans, and black flats.

Besides exploring the city on foot, the couple had drinks with Taylor Swift’s boyfriend Alwyn’s brother, Patrick, at Walter’s restaurant. While there, they were seen sharing a kiss in front of the restaurant’s large window.

This latest appearance happened a little over a month after they first met at the Met Gala in 2026. It was Pidgeon’s first time attending the fashion event, following her recent rise to fame for starring in Love Story: John F. Kennedy and Carolyn Bessette with Paul Anthony Kelly.

This marked Alwyn’s return to the event after a decade. It’s been said that he and Taylor Swift first met there back in 2016, before they officially started dating a year later.

Although Alwyn and Swift haven’t publicly shared how they first met, many fans believe it was at the 2016 Met Gala. Evidence points to a lyric in Swift’s song “Dress,” which seems to reference the event—the last time she attended, where she wore a Louis Vuitton dress and briefly had bleached hair.

In the song, Taylor Swift recalls first meeting someone, singing about their short haircut and her own bleached hair.

For six years, Alwyn and Swift kept their relationship very private. This led to some criticism of the actor when Swift started dating Travis Kelce – and later became engaged to him – in 2023.

In a 2023 interview with TIME, Taylor Swift explained that being in a public relationship with Travis Kelce meant they could openly support each other and weren’t worried about hiding their connection from others. She contrasted this with relationships where people go to great lengths to keep things secret, saying she and Kelce were simply proud to be with each other.

Taylor Swift’s openness about her relationship with Travis Kelce made many fans think her previous boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, was the reason their romance had been so private. However, Alwyn later disagreed with this idea.

As a longtime follower, I remember Joe Alwyn explaining back in 2024 that Taylor and he intentionally kept certain parts of their relationship to themselves. He told The Sunday Times it was a mutual decision, and he didn’t feel any need to share those intimate details publicly – he didn’t want to turn their love into something for public consumption, and he still feels that way.
