Ella showed her father some love by commenting three red heart emojis under the family snap.
John and Kelly mourned the loss of their son, Jett, who tragically passed away at age 16 in 2009 after a seizure during a family vacation. Last year, they honored what would have been his 33rd birthday.
John shared an old photo of himself with his son, Jett, and wrote, “Happy birthday Jett – I miss you so much. Love you forever!”
John and Kelly, who both passed away in 2020 at the age of 57 after a two-year fight with breast cancer, always remembered their son on social media each year. Shortly before she died, Kelly even shared details about their son Jett’s autism diagnosis during National Autism Acceptance Month.
I’ll always have a huge soft spot for people with autism and other special needs. I wanted to share some love with some of my absolute favorite people – especially my son, Jetty. He was such a playful, wonderful kid, truly one of a kind. Sending all my love to anyone out there with autism or special needs, wherever you are in the world.
John is also remembering Jett and cherishing all the good times they shared together.
In a 2015 interview with Entertainment Tonight, he shared that he and his son had a rich and adventurous life together over 16 years, traveling the world extensively. He reflected on how parents naturally envision a long future for their children and expect to outlive them.
The Saturday Night Fever star pointed out that even with everything they’d shared, her main wish was for him to have a happy and fulfilling life.
