The creator of Jujutsu Kaisen has announced that the story is officially finished with the release of the final volume of its sequel series. While Jujutsu Kaisen initially concluded in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 2024, a sequel series, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, unexpectedly launched last year. However, Modulo only lasted for six months, ending earlier this year, and now marks the definitive end of the Jujutsu Kaisen story.
The last volume of the Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo manga is now available in Japan, and it includes some exciting new information about the Jujutsu Kaisen universe and what might happen next. Creator Gege Akutami confirmed (as reported by @soukatsu_ on X) that this marks the end of the Jujutsu Kaisen story, stating definitively, “It won’t continue!!” This feels right, as the story has reached a natural conclusion.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Ends Jujutsu Kaisen’s Story
While new stories related to Jujutsu Kaisen are planned, the author, Akutami, has confirmed that the main story is finished. The new series, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, is set 80 years later, and most of the original characters have passed away. Yuji is the only one who remains, now the most powerful sorcerer of this future era. However, the events of this sequel will fundamentally change how sorcery works, thanks to a very powerful Cursed Technique.
In the final volume of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, Akutami shared that they originally didn’t plan to bring back any characters from the main Jujutsu Kaisen series. They were worried that longtime fans might not like seeing familiar faces in the sequel. However, after seeing positive feedback on Iwasaki’s illustrations, Akutami decided to include returning characters after all.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 Announced

Even though the Jujutsu Kaisen manga has finished, the anime will continue! Season 4 has been announced, picking up immediately after the events of Season 3. The new season, titled Jujutsu Kaisen: The Culling Game Part 2, doesn’t have a release date yet, but MAPPA, the studio behind the first three seasons, will be animating it.
Before Season 4 arrives, it’s a good idea to watch the first three seasons of Jujutsu Kaisen and the movie Jujutsu Kaisen 0 on Crunchyroll. The new season promises to be action-packed, with exciting fights from the Culling Games and Sukuna preparing his next strategy. Even though the manga has finished, the anime still has a lot more story to tell.
