The most recent episode of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 finished the Tokyo No. 1 Colony storyline, with Yuji and Megumi both successfully completing their goals. Now, the series will follow other sorcerers involved in the Culling Game, giving us a preview of what’s coming next. Unfortunately, the next episode will be the last one for this part of the season. Despite this, there’s still plenty to anticipate as the story progresses, with the Culling Game arc continuing to explore its central ideas even after its initial goal has been achieved.
The central focus of this story arc is the appearance of powerful, ancient sorcerers. We’ve only seen one in action so far – Reggie Star – and the finale seems to be building towards featuring more. The most recent episode showed three of these ancient sorcerers facing off against a particularly strong cursed spirit in the Sendai Colony. That delicate balance is broken when Yuta steps in and defeats one of them, starting a new conflict. Because this battle is so important, the final episode will be three minutes longer than the standard length.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Finale Will Run Longer to Depict a Major Culling Game Battle
OFFICIAL: SENDAI COLONY FINAL EPISODE WILL BE 27 MINUTES LONG!!!!
— Myamura (@Go_Jover) March 19, 2026
The twelfth episode of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, titled “Sendai Colony,” will be released on March 26, 2026, and will be a bit longer than usual, clocking in at 27 minutes. This longer runtime has excited fans, but manga readers are worried because the “Sendai Colony” arc covers seven chapters in the manga. Typically, the anime adapts three to four chapters per episode. However, the animation studio, MAPPA, has proven they can successfully adapt longer storylines, like they did with the intense Zenin clan massacre arc.
We could handle this arc similarly, and even remove the beginning and end credits to give viewers a continuous 27 minutes of content. Because the Sendai arc is packed with action and less focused on detailed storytelling, it’s less likely we’ll need to cut important scenes to keep the pacing right. However, there’s still a chance the first part of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3’s finale might feel rushed, potentially leaving out crucial moments and disappointing fans.
