Yuta Okkotsu has always been seen as an incredibly strong character in Jujutsu Kaisen, ever since his introduction in the prequel movie. While not officially ranked as a Special Grade sorcerer, his power is second only to his teacher, Satoru Gojo. He’s the most powerful of Gojo’s students, despite still being young. Yuta’s abilities grew dramatically after he spent a year in Africa, and he returned to Japan amidst the turmoil of the Shibuya Incident. Though he arrived after the incident began, he joined the other sorcerers to help rescue Gojo from the Prison Realm.
He’s a central figure in the Culling Game, a battle royale created by Kenjaku. The current season of the anime is split into two parts, and the first half will end on March 26th, 2026. It’s building towards a massive fight, with Yuta playing a key role.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Will Finally Feature Yuta’s Best Fight in Anime

Sorcerers were scattered throughout Tokyo, and Yuta found himself battling in the Sendai Colony. There, he encountered a powerful cursed spirit named Kurourushi, along with ancient sorcerers like Takaka Uro and Ryu Ishigori. He quickly defeated Dhruv Lakdawalla, a particularly strong ancient sorcerer brought back to life by Kenjaku for the Culling Game. Yuta faces a greater number of formidable opponents in the Sendai Colony than other participants.
The anime released a short preview to build excitement for what many fans consider the best story arc yet. The upcoming episode will be longer than usual, clocking in at 27 minutes, and will cover about seven chapters of the manga – equivalent to a whole volume. This makes it the most content-packed episode MAPPA has created so far.
The upcoming fights will be incredibly fast-paced and more intense than anything we’ve seen so far. In fact, these are considered the best fights in this entire story arc, and the animation studio, MAPPA, is dedicating a large amount of resources to adapt them all at once. Following the battle in Sendai Colony, the story will continue in the third part of the current season, focusing on other characters. This second half of the season promises even more action and surprising plot developments as the series moves closer to its conclusion.
