The new Jujutsu Kaisen sequel manga, Modulo, has brought back Yuji Itadori and is also revealing what happened to other popular characters. While Modulo is telling its own story, many fans are eager to find out what became of characters they loved from the original series. Early on, the manga showed that Maki and Yuta got married and would eventually have grandchildren who would be the focus of the story. As the series continues, it’s revealing the fates of even more familiar characters.
A major discovery was that Yuji Itadori doesn’t age, which caused him great sadness as he attended the funerals of those he worked with. This added emotional depth to the story and made fans eager to see what happened next. Itadori recently returned, and it’s clear he’s changed significantly. The newest chapter shows just how powerful he’s become, confirming he’s reached a whole new level. And surprisingly, even before getting to the main part of the chapter, it’s revealed that Yuji’s close friend, Aoi Todo, is still alive.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Confirms Yuji’s Best Friend Is Still Alive

Chapter 20 of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, titled “Old Soldiers Never Die,” begins with some humorous scenes of sorcerers searching for Yuji. One of these moments includes a surprising phone call between Kazuya Mino and Nobara Kugisaki. When Mino asks about Yuji’s location, Kugisaki casually mentions that Aoi Todo might know. This confirms that Todo, a third-year student from Kyoto Jujutsu High and Yuji’s self-proclaimed best friend, is still alive. However, his current whereabouts are a mystery, as Kugisaki only knows that Yuji is the one who would know, given that most people don’t care for him.
Although the scene felt like a brief joke, it actually tells us a lot. We learn that Todo is still alive, but he’s no longer actively working as a sorcerer – Mino specifically calls him a former first-grade sorcerer. Kugisaki mentioning that only Yuji stays in touch suggests Todo has withdrawn from the sorcerer community and is living a private life. Considering how outgoing he always was, it’s easy to picture him enjoying a quiet life, maybe with his wife. Importantly, Mino’s words also confirm that Todo never reached the rank of Special Grade sorcerer.
Despite not being able to fight alongside Yuji as fans wished, it’s still good to know this popular character survived and appears in the Jujutsu Kaisen sequel. Now that Todo is older and retired, this might be the only news we get about him, but at least fans can rest easy knowing he’s still alive.
