Please be aware that this article contains spoilers for the Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo manga! The Jujutsu Kaisen manga ended in September 2024 after Ryomen Sukuna was defeated, but the world of Jujutsu continues with new challenges on the horizon. This year, in September, creator Gege Akutami is starting a new series called Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo. Illustrated by Yuji Iwasaki, the story is set decades after the Culling Game and focuses on the grandchildren of Yuta Okkotsu and Maki Zenin. The series is planned to run for about six months, with new chapters appearing weekly in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine.
I’m following the events unfolding in the Jujutsu world, and things are incredibly tense. A massive invasion of 50,000 Simurians – an alien race – has thrown everything into chaos, and sorcerers are desperately trying to prevent a full-scale war. We’re catching up with Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu, who we first met briefly, now as teenagers grappling with their own issues. They cross paths with Maru, whose full name is Marulu Val Vol Yelvori, a Simurian working undercover as an inspector alongside the sorcerers. The story starts with a shocking turn – the deaths of Yuta and Maki – and it feels like anyone else could be next, except for Yuji Itadori.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Reveals Yuji Is Currently Alive, But There’s a Catch

Yuji first appeared briefly in Chapter 6 of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, offering a quick look at his past. Chapter 7 suggested he’s still alive in the present storyline, as his main enemy, Mahito, continues to wait for him. The most recent chapter, 10, confirms he’s still part of the story. While his face isn’t shown, the scars clearly belong to Yuji, the popular hero of Jujutsu Kaisen.
Yuji is currently hiding for reasons we don’t yet know, and the jujutsu world is actively searching for him. He’s considered a potentially important figure, especially if a conflict were to erupt between humans and Simurians. This suggests we may see him return to action regardless of whether a war happens. Despite going into hiding, Yuji appears to have aged very little, possibly due to the Death Paintings he absorbed or his abilities as a Vessel. Though he’s lived longer than most, it seems Yuji has ultimately lost everyone he was close to.
