Please be aware that this article contains spoilers from the Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo manga. The latest chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo suggests a war between humans and the Simurians, a powerful alien race, may be unavoidable. The story is set 68 years after the Culling Game, a time of unrest where 50,000 Simurians have sought refuge in Japan. While a major threat hasn’t emerged since the Culling Game, curses and those who wield cursed energy still pose a danger to ordinary people.
Although skilled sorcerers are uncommon, the Simurians all share their magical abilities, making their large population a potential danger to humans. Thankfully, the Simurians haven’t shown any hostility, so sorcerers are hesitant to initiate conflict. Both groups are attempting to find a peaceful way to live together, but disagreements and a lack of cooperation are causing tension. Just as things were improving, a significant event threatens to undo all their progress.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 12 Might Be the Beginning of a Dreadful War

Negotiations between the two groups hit a snag when sorcerers killed creatures called cursed spirits. These spirits closely resemble Kalyans, which are sacred beings worshipped by the Simurians. While sorcerers are meant to eliminate cursed spirits, a Simurian named Osuki thought they had mistakenly killed a Kalyan, leading to a serious conflict.
Just as people were starting to calm things down, Cross stepped in to clarify that no one named Kalyan had been hurt by a sorcerer. At the same time, Yuka, Tsurugi, and Maru went their separate ways, planning to meet again the next day, completely unaware of the conflict happening between the two groups. Despite Cross successfully resolving the confusion, a sorcerer named Yakumaru shot him twice, mistakenly believing Cross—who was a Simurian—was about to attack. This wasn’t true at all.
We don’t yet know what’s wrong with Cross, but Dabura’s reaction suggests he’s seriously injured. The trouble started because of a mistake by Osuki, but the Simurians haven’t hurt any humans as badly as Cross has been hurt. The chapter ends with a dramatic moment, leaving readers eager to find out what Dabura will do next.
