Please be aware that this article contains spoilers for the Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo manga! The climax of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is fast approaching, and the central conflict has taken a surprising direction in Chapter 21. Set 68 years after the Culling Game, the story depicts the Jujutsu world facing a new, immense threat: the arrival of over 50,000 Simurians on Earth seeking refuge. Led by the incredibly powerful Dabura, they present a challenge unlike any since Ryomen Sukuna. Though Yuji Itadori is the only one who seemingly has a chance against Dabura, he’s stated he won’t get involved. As Dabura begins to fight Yuka Okkotsu, she uses her Ten Shadows Technique to summon Mahoraga and conceal herself within one of its shadows.
The battle with Mahoraga is pushing Dabura to unlock incredible new power. He’s even managed to learn Reverse Cursed Technique simply by watching, letting him instinctively reverse cursed techniques – a skill previously demonstrated only by Satoru Gojo and Kenjaku. In the most recent chapter, he used his Domain Expansion against the Shikigami. Although the manga hasn’t revealed details about the domain itself, a translator familiar with Jujutsu Kaisen has explained its meaning to fans.
Jujutsu Kaisen Translator Explains Dabura’s Domain Expansion

Dabura’s powerful Domain Expansion is connected to his natural abilities. We learn about his cursed techniques in chapter 18, where one is shown as ‘Light,’ and the other is obscured. Because his body can’t handle the speed of light, he’s never been able to move that fast. However, Mahoraga’s ability to adapt prevents anyone from repeatedly using their techniques, forcing Dabura to fight with his bare hands. This brings him back to his roots as a warrior, despite leaving his original tribe, the Deskunte, and joining the Rumelians.
In battle, Dabura moves incredibly fast – faster than anything a human could achieve. Translator @lightningclare, known for their deep understanding of the series’ power system and official work on the popular Chapter 236, recently pointed out that the visual design of Dabura’s battle arena is based on the Monument to the Revolution of the People of Moslavina, located in Podgarić, Croatia.
The similarities between Dabura’s domain and a real-world monument are striking. This isn’t just about how they look; the monument symbolizes triumph over death and failure, mirroring Dabura’s own goals. Each Domain Expansion is activated with a specific hand gesture, and these gestures all carry unique significance. Dabura’s gesture specifically resembles one linked to Mārīcī, a Buddhist deity connected to the sun and moon. Dabura isn’t fighting for personal glory; he wants to create a safe and secure future for his people, the Simurians, who were forced to leave their home due to a civil war.
