Jujutsu Kaisen Unveils Exciting New Update For August Ahead of Season 4

Despite finishing in 2024, Gege Akutami’s popular manga, Jujutsu Kaisen, continues to gain fans. The anime is currently adapting the Culling Game in its fourth season and will then move on to the story’s final events. The manga’s final volume included a four-part epilogue that the anime may also cover. Surprisingly, just a year after the main series ended, Akutami returned with a sequel, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, which they wrote, with illustrations by Yuji Iwasaki. This short sequel ran for six months and was later collected into three volumes. Modulo concluded in March, but the Jujutsu Kaisen universe isn’t finished yet.

What’s Next For Jujutsu Kaisen?

Season 4 of the anime will continue the story with the characters fighting new opponents in the Culling Game. Although it’s been shown how to release Gojo from the Prison Realm, the young sorcerers will face many challenges in doing so.

Besides continuing the main storyline, the anime could potentially adapt the sequel manga within the next few years. The sequel manga quickly became very popular after it started, and all the volumes have already been published in Japan. While these volumes haven’t been released internationally yet, we might hear news about that later this year – it usually takes several months to license and translate them. To celebrate the final volume’s release this month, MAPPA released a promotional video that got fans excited about a possible anime adaptation.

The popular series is growing! Horror writer Yumeaki Hirayama is working on a spin-off novel, which Akutami is overseeing. While the main story has finished and future sequels aren’t certain, Jujutsu Kaisen will continue to thrive with new content and surprises for fans.
