Good news for fans of Kevin Smith’s 1999 film, Dogma! It’s finally coming to 4K Blu-ray for its 25th anniversary. The film has been beautifully remastered in 4K with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos sound, and the release will include plenty of new bonus content featuring the cast and crew, alongside all the classic extras.
Okay, so the new release is packed with extras. We’re talking a brand new intro from Kevin Smith himself, a full-length documentary diving into how Dogma was made, and a cool featurette focusing on the cinematography with Robert Yeoman. They’ve also included a fresh Q&A with the cast and crew, expanded content from the ‘Sermons from the Mount’ series, and both a 25th anniversary teaser and the original theatrical trailer. Honestly, it doesn’t surprise me they pulled out all the stops. Kevin Smith has been pretty open about how home media sales for Jay and Silent Bob Reboot were a huge factor in getting Clerks III made, so he clearly knows his fans will support these releases!
Dogma 4K Blu-ray Pre-Orders

order at walmart
You can now pre-order the 4K Blu-ray of Dogma at Walmart for $29.96 and on Amazon for $42.99. Both versions will be released on December 9th, and Amazon is expected to lower its price to match Walmart before then – pre-order customers will receive the discounted price automatically. Lionsgate is also offering a special limited edition Steelbook with a Buddy Christ cover and a 25th-anniversary booklet for $39.99.
The 1999 film Dogma, featuring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck as fallen angels trying to get back to Heaven, was well-received and earned $43.9 million globally on a $10 million budget. Recently, to celebrate its 25th anniversary, Kevin Smith hosted a screening tour with Iconic Events, culminating in a June showing of a newly restored 4K version. While we anticipated a 4K Blu-ray release, we were impressed by the level of detail and work put into this restoration.
We’re excited about a possible follow-up, which Kevin Smith hinted at a year ago, saying:
Smith explained that some people would likely warn him against interfering, fearing he’d spoil things. However, he happily admitted he intended to proceed anyway, and was excited to have discovered a way to do so.
