Man, as a Kingdom Hearts fan, you wouldn’t believe how desperate we all are for any news, especially about Kingdom Hearts 4! There was this rumor going around about a remake coming out this year, or maybe early 2027, and everyone got super hyped. But it looks like it might just be a dream, sadly.
NateTheHate, a well-known source of gaming information, addressed a user on Twitter about the rumors, saying he’d heard them too, but other reliable sources have told him they’re likely untrue. He doesn’t completely dismiss the possibility, but doesn’t think there’s much substance to the claims.
It’s disappointing, but when you consider how much the initial rumor promised – a Jungle Bookthemed world, playable sections with Riku, and even Cait Sith making an appearance – it always seemed unlikely. The claim that Kingdom Hearts 4* would arrive in Winter 2027 just added to the feeling that it was too optimistic.
Good news for fans: the highly anticipated sequel is still in development! Creative director Tetsuya Nomura confirmed that work on both it and Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 (which now has a title) is progressing as planned. We don’t know when we’ll get more information or see gameplay footage, but the project is definitely moving forward, and that’s what fans have been waiting to hear.
I’ve seen the rumors; but I’ve also seen notable insiders say it is fake.
