Konami Announces eBaseball PRO SPIRIT 2026 for PS5 and PC

Okay, so Konami just announced the next version of eBaseball, it’s called eBaseball PRO SPIRIT 2026! I’m excited because it’s coming to both PlayStation 5 and PC through Steam on July 16, 2026. It’ll cost $59.99, and the best part is, pre-orders are already open on both platforms, so I can snag it now if I want!

The Professional Baseball Spirits series began on home consoles in 2004 and, until recently, was only released in Japan. The free-to-play game, eBaseball PRO SPIRIT, launched worldwide on March 5, 2026, as the first game in the series available globally. Now, eBaseball PRO SPIRIT 2026 is the first full, numbered game in the series to be released worldwide with English language support.

Built on the eBaseball Engine

eBaseball PRO SPIRIT 2026 aims to bring the excitement of a real baseball stadium to your screen, thanks to Konami’s custom-built eBaseball Engine. The game features incredibly detailed recreations of stadiums – scanned with lasers – and realistic player models, down to their hair and skin. Authentic stadium sounds are achieved through precise acoustic measurements. Built using Unreal Engine, the game will launch with English play-by-play commentary, although colour commentary will initially be available only in Japanese.

Game Modes

Konami’s website and store pages reveal that eBaseball PRO SPIRIT 2026 will offer many different ways to play. Marketing materials currently focus on five key modes:

Exhibition mode lets you play a single game, while other modes allow you to customize the stadium, rules, and teams before starting.

Manage your team through an entire season with this mode. It now includes the Active Player Draft, a new feature that lets you build your roster strategically over the long term.

In Star Player, you create and manage a baseball player throughout their entire career – up to 30 years! You’ll focus on both their performance on the field and the choices they make in their personal life.

Okay, so I’m really excited about this new baseball game mode! Basically, you get to be a high school baseball coach and manage everything – practices, what we do during games, and building a team over several seasons. It’s cool because players graduate and you have to recruit new ones each year, keeping things fresh. And get this – they finally added the designated hitter rule, which changes up the strategy a lot!

Spirits is an online game where you create a team of unique characters and battle players from around the globe.

In addition to the five main game modes, the game will also include features like Live Championships, Live Scenarios, Grand Prix, Home Run Derby, Team Edit, and Edit Share when it launches.

Pre-Order Bonus and the Shohei Ohtani Incentive

If you pre-order the game, you’ll get 1,000,000 VP, which is the in-game currency you can use to improve your character and buy items in the Prospi Shop. This pre-order bonus is confirmed for both the PlayStation 5 and Steam versions of the game.

The biggest perk for buying early is an exclusive player card: SAMURAI JAPAN 2026 “Shohei Ohtani”. If you purchase the game by December 31, 2026 (11:59 PM JST / 2:59 PM UTC on the PlayStation Store), you’ll unlock this special card featuring Shohei Ohtani, who is also the face of Konami’s baseball games. This makes pre-ordering a great option for fans who want to start playing with him right away.

One Important Regional Limitation

The game includes a 2026 World Baseball Classic mode, but it’s currently only playable in Japan and other parts of Asia. This information is listed on the PlayStation Store. Players in North America and Europe won’t be able to play this mode when the game first comes out.

Editions and Availability by Region

You can download eBaseball PRO SPIRIT 2026 digitally for PS5 and Steam outside of Japan. It costs $59.99, £39.99, or €49.99.

Konami is releasing several different versions of the game in Japan, for both PlayStation 5 and PC. These include standard and digital editions of the PS5 game, as well as a more elaborate Digital Deluxe Edition for PS5 and Steam. In Japan, the PS5 Digital Deluxe Edition will cost 10,978 yen.

The Difference Between This and the Free Version

eBaseball PRO SPIRIT, the free-to-play game released worldwide on March 5, 2026, is different from the full eBaseball PRO SPIRIT 2026 game. The free version was designed to introduce players around the world to the game’s engine and online competitions. The premium version, eBaseball PRO SPIRIT 2026, offers the complete experience – including features like Season, Star Player, Hakkyu no Kiseki, and all other modes – that aren’t available in the free version.
