KPop Demon Hunters’ Rei Ami Addresses Possibility of a Sequel

Rei Ami chose a pretty traditional Halloween costume this year, not venturing too far from popular ideas.

The singer who voices Zoey in KPop Demon Hunters truly impressed at Heidi Klum’s 24th Annual Halloween Party. She dressed as her character, perfectly recreating Zoey’s first outfit from the film—a detailed look featuring patchwork parachute pants, just like when Zoey jumps out of a plane.

How it’s done, indeed.

Rei told TopMob News at the Hard Rock Hotel in New York on October 31st that she was seeing KPop Demon Hunter costumes everywhere. “I can’t escape them!” she exclaimed, quickly adding, “But I definitely don’t mind!”

The 30-year-old highlighted the detailed embroidery on her outfit, pointing out a sea turtle and a hibiscus flower—the national flower of South Korea. To match her magical throwing knives, called shin-kal, she also had a bold manicure.

She said getting ready only took around three hours, and assured the TopMob team that it wasn’t a difficult process.

Rei laughed and confessed she’d been a demanding client to her tailor. She’d sent her measurements just a week ago, and he’d been working non-stop ever since.

So, a heartfelt apology to Rei’s tailor.

Despite the hard work, everything fell into place remarkably quickly – it all happened within 36 hours! I just had my final fitting today.

Rei is still surprised by how incredibly popular KPop Demon Hunters has become, as no one predicted the Netflix film would be such a huge hit this summer.

Now it’s fall and “I can’t and I still haven’t,” she marveled. “This is a cultural phenomenon.”

As someone who’s spent a lot of time observing how things impact people, I was genuinely moved by this project. It’s easy to say art can change the world, but this film and its music actually did. It brought a real sense of hope and brightness when things felt pretty dark, and I feel incredibly lucky to have been involved. It’s truly humbling to witness the power of music and art firsthand.

Zoey feels immense pressure, as if she carries a huge burden, while Rei ambitiously plans to achieve great success in 2026.

When asked about a possible sequel to Netflix’s biggest hit movie, Rei said she’s just as eager to find out as everyone else. She explained that she’ll share any news as soon as she gets it, promising to update fans when she does.
