Krysten Ritter, known for her role as Jessica Jones in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and returning for the second season of Daredevil: Born Again, is starring in a new horror film called Claire. The movie will explore her character’s personal struggles. Joining Ritter are Carrie-Anne Moss, who previously worked with her on Jessica Jones, along with Sarah Bolger (Mayans M.C.) and Cameron Crovetti (The Boys). While the film features a strong supporting cast, Claire will primarily focus on Ritter’s character and her journey.
John Carlos Higgins has written the screenplay for Claire, a new horror film aiming for a similar feel to ’90s monster movies like The Relic, as well as recent hits like The Babadook and Hereditary. Set in rural New Mexico, the story follows a single mother struggling with addiction as a terrifying creature that preys on hopelessness begins to haunt her and her two sons. As she tries to get sober, the film explores how her personal struggles and the supernatural threat become increasingly intertwined, leading to a desperate fight for both survival and recovery.
