Krysten Ritter expresses optimism that viewers will appreciate Jessica Jones’ comeback to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Currently promoting her role as Mia Lapierre on the revived series Dexter: Resurrection, she has predominantly been occupied with filming Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again throughout most of 2025. Recently, she spoke about revisiting her MCU role in an interview with ScreenRant, hinting at a significant narrative for her character and the series as a whole. Although details regarding her return and the upcoming season’s plot remain veiled in secrecy, Ritter guarantees fans will be satisfied when they watch it next year.
She expressed great enthusiasm,” she said. “I’m absolutely ecstatic to slip back into Jessica Jones’ shoes again. There’s still much more of her story to tell, and it’s incredibly thrilling.” Ritter, who portrayed Jessica Jones in her self-titled series on Netflix, as well as the Defenders crossover series and various MCU shows airing on Netflix at the time, noted that Born Again Season 2 manages to find a good middle ground. Despite some fans believing the Netflix shows had a more somber tone compared to the newer Disney+ series, Ritter found that balance appealing.
As a movie enthusiast, I find this production raw and grand in scale. The team behind it is phenomenal, making my involvement nothing short of extraordinary. I can’t divulge specifics, but working alongside Charlie [Cox] has been a dream come true. It was as if no time had passed since our first day together. However, collaborating with Mia and Jessica has added an extra layer of creative richness for me as an artist. This year is shaping up to be quite the blockbuster, and I believe the fans will be ecstatic about what we’re cooking up. Some truly innovative work is underway.
The filming for Season 2 of “Daredevil: Born Again” started in February, even as Season 1 was still being broadcast, and it was planned to carry on throughout the summer months. Filming locations around New York City have been frequently spotted, and Ritter has been pictured training with Cox at a luxurious gym in Brooklyn, getting ready for their joint stunts and choreography. Although the extent of her role in the upcoming narrative remains uncertain, she appears to have spent considerable time on set.
As a passionate Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) viewer, I can’t help but feel excited by Ritter’s recent comments, suggesting a more significant part for Jessica Jones and Daredevil in the grand scheme of the MCU. In the past, during the Netflix era, the Defenders seemed to be kept at arm’s length from the main movie narrative, but now, with the Disney+ series being deeply interwoven into the Multiverse Saga, there’s a sense that things are changing for the better. Ritter’s hint of a “sizeable” second season has definitely piqued my interest – more so when I learned that the show will be back in March 2026, right smack in the middle of some epic moments, with Avengers: Doomsday looming just ahead.
Currently streaming on Disney+ are Jessica Jones, Defenders, and other shows from the Netflix era, offering fans a chance to revisit Charlie Cox’s character. In March of 2026, Daredevil: Born Again is set to premiere. The next release from the Marvel Cinematic Universe is The Fantastic Four: First Steps, scheduled for theater release on July 25th.
