I was completely hooked on a Game Pass game called Ball x Pit towards the end of 2026. It’s a surprisingly amazing mix of pinball, rogue-lite elements, city building, and bullet hell gameplay! It was the perfect game for on-the-go play, topping my list on both my Xbox Rog Ally and my partner’s Steam Deck. I played until I unlocked every achievement, and now I’m starting it all over again because a big free update is coming out on January 26th.
The Regal Update drops on January 26 for free

The latest Regal Update is packed with exciting new content! You’ll find new characters, completely redesigned levels, unique abilities, and features that players have been asking for. First up are two brand-new characters who are eager to find treasure:
- The Carouser who’s returning balls orbit around him, turning the battlefield into a personal pinball machine of pain.
- The Falconer, who fights alongside two trusted falcons that literally throw balls for her, because apparently gravity and common sense are optional in this universe.
The Regal Update introduces new characters, eight new balls, and several new passive abilities. These additions are designed to dramatically change how players build their strategies and combine characters, encouraging more experimentation and powerful combinations. The developers are also holding back one secret surprise, hinted at in the trailer.
A new teaser video is getting Xbox players excited, and everyone seems to be wondering the same thing: will there be new Xbox achievements?
There’s no official word yet, but I’m already hooked! I’m really hoping the update adds at least a couple of new levels alongside new characters. I love playing Ball x Pit and would love to see it become as addictive as Vampire Survivors (which keeps getting better with each yearly update!).
On that note, it would be amazing to see some collaborations added to Ball x Pit this year. Devolver Digital has said this is just the first of several major, free updates, and their plans for 2026 include at least two more, so it’s definitely a possibility!
