Brenda Fraser’s The Mummy succeeded as an action movie, but Tom Cruise’s attempt didn’t quite capture the same magic, despite also leaning into action. Now, the newest Mummy reboot seems to be returning to its horror origins. Director Lee Cronin proved his skill with the highly successful Evil Dead Rise, which earned $147 million worldwide. Following that success, Cronin is tackling another iconic horror story, The Mummy, with a bold and unsettling new take, as showcased in the trailer for Lee Cronin’s The Mummy.

What can we expect from Lee Cronin’s The Mummy trailer?

When a man’s daughter reappears after being missing for eight years, he soon realizes she’s possessed by the spirit of an ancient Egyptian mummy. As this evil begins to affect his other child, he’s forced to undertake a dangerous and terrifying ritual to save them both, even if it means sacrificing his own humanity.

Who’s starring ?

I’m really excited about this film! It’s directed and written by Lee Cronin, and stars Jack Reynor, Laia Costa, May Calamawy, Natalie Grace, and Veronica Falcón. The producing team is fantastic – James Wan, Jason Blum, and John Keville are all involved. Behind the scenes, Cronin worked with a truly talented crew, including Dave Garbett on cinematography, Nick Bassett for production design, editor Bryan Shaw, costume designer Joanna Eatwell, and composer Stephen McKeon. Terri Taylor and Sarah Domeier Lindo handled the casting, so I have high hopes for the performances!
