Nintendo is celebrating 40 years, and along with a possible full remake of Ocarina of Time, they’re also releasing a new version of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for fans of the GameCube and Wii!
Twilight Princess is considered one of the most mature and expansive Zelda games, and a new trailer just dropped for its updated version. We already knew it was coming to PC, but this trailer really highlights why Zelda fans will be excited.
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Looks Better Than Ever on PC
Although Nintendo released a high-definition version of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess on the Wii U, the recent PC port wasn’t created by them. Instead, it’s a fan-made project developed through a partnership between the Twilight Princess Decompilation team, speedrunning enthusiasts, and the Aurora team.
I’m so excited – the new trailer for the Twilight Princess PC port is finally out! You can find it on YouTube. It’s a video called “Dusk – A Twilight Princess PC Port,” and it shows over three minutes of actual gameplay and cutscenes. They go into detail about all the amazing improvements they’ve made to the graphics and how much smoother the game runs now.
Fans are really excited about the new project, Dusk, but it’s worth noting this is actually the second time Twilight Princess has been ported to PC. Another fan project, Twilight Princess: Courage Reborn, is also underway, and it will be interesting to see how these two versions stack up against each other when they’re both finished.
A comment on the trailer for the game Dusk jokingly pointed out that this is the second time a game similar to Twilight Princess has appeared online.
“Ah yes, two separate PC ports. I love this community so much,” another said.
Many fans expressed their excitement for the upcoming game, Dusk. One commenter playfully wrote, “Just inject it into my veins! I’ve been playing a lot of Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask, and I’m really craving that bittersweet feeling from Twilight.”
Both Dusk – A Twilight Princess Port and Twilight Princess: Courage Reborn are testaments to the enduring love fans have for the Zelda series, especially the affection they hold for Twilight Princess after two decades.
Many fans consider Twilight Princess one of the best Legend of Zelda games ever made. It struck a chord with players by being as mature, intense, and imaginative as Majora’s Mask, while also keeping the classic elements that Ocarina of Time made famous.
