Lindsey Vonn Shares Personal Milestone After Olympics 2026 Injury

Lindsey Vonn hasn’t lost her strength.

Over a month after a crash during a competition at the 2026 Milano-Cortina Olympics resulted in a broken leg, the alpine skier announced a significant milestone in her recovery while working out at the gym.

Lindsey, 41, showed off her strength in an Instagram video on March 21st by doing six pull-ups all on her own. Afterwards, she used a step stool to help her get down and continued using her crutches. She celebrated with a fist bump to her trainer and a cheerful expression for the camera.

“First set of pull ups post surgery,” she wrote alongside the clip. “Slowly getting there!”

After the injury, the Olympic gold medalist, who had several surgeries on her leg, has been open about the challenges she’s faced, both with her recovery and her mental health. She recently shared that her progress hasn’t been straightforward – it’s had its ups and downs.

She shared on X (formerly Twitter) on February 24th that while her physical recovery began immediately after her injury, the emotional challenge truly started today. She described the realization as overwhelming.

Lindsey acknowledged she’s used to dealing with life’s challenges, but she also admitted it’s not always simple or straightforward.

I’m familiar with this struggle; I’ve faced it many times before. I’ve always grown from my injuries, each one helping me become stronger in its own way. However, the mental side of things can be really difficult, overwhelming, and never-ending.

The athlete admitted things would get difficult, but vowed to overcome the challenges and return to a place of success and happiness.

Despite facing difficulties, Lindsey has remained optimistic and encouraged her supporters to do the same.

She recently shared on Instagram that she’s seen many messages expressing sadness over what she’s going through. She asked people not to be sad, but to offer empathy, love, and support instead. She hopes her situation will inspire others to stay strong and keep fighting, as that’s exactly what she’s doing herself, and will continue to do.
