Approximately two years have passed since the second season of Jimmy McGovern’s drama “Time” was initially aired, and currently, he is not planning to revisit the prison drama. However, his upcoming BBC series delves into the theme of imprisonment.
The Mitchell family, who have suffered the terrible consequences of a heinous act committed by one of their members, Joe, will be followed as they grapple with its aftermath in the story “Unforgivable.
The story resumes when Joe steps out of prison and finds himself at St. Maura’s, a place that provides both residence and rehabilitation for him.
The series will be available for streaming on BBC iPlayer starting at 6am on Thursday, July 24th. Before that, the first episode will air on BBC Two later in the same day.

In this new series, the role of Joe is taken on by Bobby Schofield, whereas Anna Maxwell Martin from Line of Duty portrays Katherine, a former nun and psychologist who works at St. Maura’s.
In the context of Joe’s family, Anna Friel is cast as his sister named Anna, while David Threlfall portrays their dad, Brian. Austin Haynes and Fin McParland are set to depict Anna’s sons in this production.
Initially announcing the cast for the series, McGovern exclaimed: “I’m astonished by the team we’ve put together for this project! It’s a demanding production, indeed, but I’m eagerly anticipating its release!
The series summary indicates that it delves into the far-reaching consequences of abuse, portraying various viewpoints, and explores how individuals attempt to find a way forward amidst the destruction.
Martin, most recently spotted in Ludwig, portrayed Patricia Carmichael during seasons 5 and 6 on Line of Duty. In a statement last year, she expressed her desire to continue playing the role, stating, “I’d play Pat for as long as they’ll have me.
She suggested that it would be great if Jed were to create a spin-off series titled ‘Pat’, where Pat is shown doing everyday activities such as shopping, rather than focusing on her in a policing role.
