The spooky platformer LOVE ETERNAL is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC (via Steam) on February 19th. It will cost $9.99 and will be available in English, Simplified Chinese, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, Spanish, and Russian.
In a recent press release, brlka designer Toby Alden explained that their goal with LOVE ETERNAL was to create a deeply unsettling psychological horror experience. They focused on building a pervasive sense of unease throughout the game—something players would feel rather than immediately understand. Early testers have reported this feeling, and the team is eager for players to experience the game’s uniquely disturbing atmosphere.
Here is an overview of the game, via Ysbyrd Games:
LOVE ETERNAL is an unconventional horror platformer about escaping the domain of a selfish god.
For teenager Maya, an ordinary family dinner quickly turns terrifying. In an instant, she goes from arguing with her parents to finding herself alone in a ruined house, transported to a strange and unsettling alternate world. Now, she must navigate the dangerous, crumbling halls of an ancient fortress, overcome treacherous traps and unpredictable gravity, and face the powerful god who took her.
Navigate the decaying rooms of a complex castle, solving puzzles as you go. Jump, flip, and carefully time your movements to dodge dangerous traps. Plan your jumps so Maya can break through floating stones, giving her the power to flip gravity – a key skill for controlling her jumps and momentum. Watch out for spikes, lasers, and other deadly obstacles as you test your platforming skills.
Explore the haunting remains of a forgotten world, filled with colossal statues and decaying buildings. Bright spotlights cut through the darkness across diverse environments – from damp caves to underwater tunnels. You’ll meet other lost souls taken by a cruel god, and face disturbing visions of Maya’s family, now twisted into monstrous forms.
