The light novel series Though I Am an Inept Villainess is getting an anime adaptation this July as part of the Summer 2024 anime season, and it will be available on Crunchyroll. The anime series Though I Am an Inept Villainess will premiere on July 12th as part of the Summer 2026 season. Crunchyroll will stream the series for viewers in North and South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS countries. The animation is being handled by Doga Kobo, the studio behind popular shows like Oshi no Ko and Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian.

Mitsue Yamazaki is directing the anime adaptation of Though I Am an Inept Villainess at Doga Kobo. Yoshihoko Nakamura is in charge of series composition, Ai Kukuchi is designing the characters, and Yukari Hashimoto is composing the music. The voice actors include Manaka Iwami as Kou Reirin, Natsumi Kawaida as Shu Keigetsu, Makoto Furukawa as Ei Gyoumei, Yuichiro Umehara as Shin-U, Hana Hishikawa as Leelee, and Farahnaz Nikray as Kou Tousetsu. While the story shares some similarities with The Apothecary Diaries, this anime will focus more on the magical aspects of its world.
