Following the success of its Final Fantasy partnership, Wizards of the Coast is now preparing to propel its hit trading card game, Magic: The Gathering, into the vastness of outer space. In its debut space-themed expansion, titled Edge of Eternities, players will be transported to the Sothera system where they can delve into fresh mechanics and card types, such as the new artifact subtype known as Spacecraft. Previews for the forthcoming set have already started, and we’re excited to share an exclusive sneak peek at two brand-new cards that will aid players in their galactic journeys.
The initial “Edge of Eternities” card displayed is called Systems Override, a Sorcery card. This card gives a player the ability to take control of a chosen artifact or creature and attack instantly as it has haste. Moreover, this spell will be beneficial for players using or facing cards from the new set, since it provides an additional advantage if the card is a Spacecraft. The second card is a Creature named Terrapact Intimidator, which is a Kavu Scout. This low-cost card allows the player to either acquire more land through Lander tokens, or increase from 2/1 to 4/3 based on an opponent’s choice.
Here are the images and text for each Edge of Eternities card:
Systems Override (Sorcery)

- Cost: 2 any land, 1 Mountain
- Gain control of target artifact or creature until end of turn. Untap that permanent. It gains haste until end of turn. If it’s a Spacecraft, put ten charge counters on it. If you do, remove ten charge counters from it at the beginning of the next end step.
Terrapact Intimidator (Creature – Kavu Scout)

- Cost: 1 any land, 1 Mountain
- When this creature enters, target opponent may have you create two Lander tokens. If they don’t, put two +1/+1 counters on this creature. (A Lander token is an artifact with “cost 2 mana, tap, Sacrifice this token: Search your library for a basic land card, put it onto the battlefield tapped, then shuffle.”)
Be sure to return here regularly from now until July 15th to catch glimpses of upcoming Edge of Eternities cards.
