A popular anime on Crunchyroll recently had an episode pulled from its Spring schedule, but good news – it now has a new release date! April has brought a lot of exciting new anime, as well as the continuation of several popular series. Some of these fantasy-based shows are already on their fourth season, and one is currently exploring a particularly interesting storyline.
Season 4 of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime has been airing new episodes this spring. A couple of weeks ago, Episode 5 was unexpectedly pulled from the schedule and replaced with a recap. However, it’s now confirmed that Episode 5 will air on May 8th, just a week later, according to an update shared on X (formerly Twitter) by @AIR_News01.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4 Episode 5 Release Date Confirmed
Originally planned for May 1st, the release of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4 Episode 5 was briefly delayed. However, it’s now confirmed to air on May 8th. This is a common, minor delay for anime broadcasts in Japan, and thankfully it’s just a reschedule – not a cancellation of the episode itself.
Fans will have to wait a bit longer for the next episode, but there’s good news! Crunchyroll is releasing the new movie, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Tears of the Azure Sea, in US and Canadian theaters on May 1st. The film continues the story after season three and features a brand new plot written by the author of the original light novels, Fuse.
What’s Going on in Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4?

Season 4 of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime continues to develop the story of Rimuru and Tempest as they grow and interact with surrounding kingdoms. While Tempest is gaining attention – and facing a potential takeover – Rimuru is currently focused on building a special dungeon that was first introduced last season. The first few episodes largely center around the concepts and development of this dungeon.
The story features competing kingdoms attempting to learn the dungeon’s secrets, hiring mercenaries to do so. Rimuru is working to control access, hoping to generate even more interest. It’s been enjoyable to watch this aspect of the story develop, and with five planned parts over the next few years, there’s plenty of exciting action still to come from this series.
