A popular anime series from the ‘Isekai’ genre is returning for a fourth season after a four-year wait. Crunchyroll is streaming the show, and a new trailer and poster have just been released to announce its April premiere. With ‘Isekai’ being incredibly popular right now, new stories are constantly being released, and some have become so successful they’ve continued for multiple seasons – this is one of those franchises.
The anime Ascendance of a Bookworm will return for its fourth season in Japan on April 4th. A new trailer and poster have been released, giving fans a first look at the upcoming story arc. Along with the release date, details about the season’s length and opening theme song have also been revealed. You can watch the trailer and see the poster below.
Ascendance of a Bookworm Season 4 Release Date Confirmed
The fourth season of Ascendance of a Bookworm will begin airing in Japan on April 4th as part of the Spring 2026 anime lineup. As of now, there’s no official word on where it will be streamed internationally. However, the first three seasons are currently available on Crunchyroll, so fans are hopeful that the new season will also be available there this spring. A new trailer has also been released, showcasing the opening theme song, “Pages,” performed by Little Glee Monster.
Season 4 of Ascendance of a Bookworm will be directed by Yoshiaki Iwasagi, with animation production now handled by WIT Studio, taking over from Ajia-do Animation Works. Several key staff members are returning, including Mariko Kunisawa for series composition, Aiko Minowa as character designer, and Michiru composing the music. This new season is expected to air throughout a significant portion of the year.
What to Know About Ascendance of a Bookworm Season 4

The fourth season of Ascendance of a Bookworm will be split into two parts, airing throughout the Spring and Summer 2026 anime seasons. This means fans can expect a total of 24 to 26 episodes. The new season will continue the story directly from where the anime adaptation of Miya Kazuki and Yo Shiina’s light novel series left off, which is great news for viewers.
I’m excited for Season 4 of Ascendance of a Bookworm! It’s going to cover the “Adopted Daughter of an Archduke” storyline, specifically from volumes 8 to 12 of the original light novels. The fact that they’re adapting so much material suggests we might get the entire arc covered in this season, which is great news for fans like me.
