The Marathon Server Slam event has begun, and Bungie is already getting a lot of feedback from players – including some complaints. On the first day, they addressed issues like delays with mouse movements, problems with voice chat during gameplay, a lack of Player versus Player (PvP) opportunities, and some concerns about the game’s user interface.
The recent feedback review shows the user interface will be improved after the game launches, and we’ll share a timeline for those updates soon. The team is also looking into problems with performance, like low usage of computer parts and stuttering. Unfortunately, there weren’t many updates regarding how often player-versus-player combat happens, though they are still studying player numbers on maps for all skill levels.
The development team is also addressing issues with heat, movement, and how characters maintain speed. They’re reviewing player feedback on medical supplies and ammunition – specifically, how much players can carry, how effective basic medical items are, and the rate at which ammo appears in the game. This comes after players reported difficulty finding enough ammo.
It’s still uncertain whether all the current problems will be fixed before the game officially launches. The recent Server Slam test period ends on March 2nd, and the full game, Marathon, releases on March 5th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Season 1 will include two new maps – Outpost and Cryo Archive – along with Ranked Mode, complete progression systems, and Contracts for each of the game’s Factions.
