In simple terms, the final episode of Season 36 for The Simpsons sparked some buzz because it portrayed a future where Marge passed away. This left Bart and Lisa growing apart as grown-ups until they eventually reconnected, thanks to a video message from Marge that encouraged them to take care of each other.
At the close of the story, Marge could be found gazing down at them from a celestial vantage point. She then departed with Ringo Starr, with whom there were rumors of a romantic involvement.
The incident sparked discussions online about whether Marge had permanently passed away. Yet, it’s important to clarify that she’s still very much alive, and showrunner Matt Selman hinted that her death might not occur under the same conditions across different versions of the series’ future.
Speaking with Variety, he said: “There is no canon. The Simpsons doesn’t even have canon!”
I’d like to clarify something about The Simpsons: seeing as their future episodes are essentially imaginative scenarios, each one tends to vary. It’s highly unlikely we’ll ever see Marge deceased again, except for that one instance in a past episode that was broadcast six weeks ago.

Selman continued by admitting that deceptive tales about the program tend to spread rapidly, implying that perhaps this reflects the level of interest and concern people have for Marge.
“At the end of the day, it’s probably good for business,” he added.
It’s great news for fans that Marge will definitely reappear on our screens when The Simpsons starts its 37th season, as it has already been officially announced.
As a movie critic, I am thrilled to share that the beloved animated series will grace our screens for another 15 episodes in its upcoming seasons, extending all the way through season 40! This is a significant shift from the traditional 22-episode run, making way for more captivating stories and unforgettable moments.
