Mark Ballas is down to take date night to the ballroom.
The winner of Dancing With the Stars talked about the possibility of teaming up with his wife, BC Jean, if the show ever did a couples-only season where professional dancers partnered with their spouses.
Mark shared with TopMob News at the 2026 Tony Awards, while with his wife, that he and his wife would love to dance together. ‘We already enjoy making music as a couple – we’ve been doing that for ten years and have a new album coming out this year,’ he said. ‘So dancing together would be a really fun next step.’
BC, who shares a two-year-old son named Bankski with the dancer, also seems excited about the idea of working together, but she does have one requirement.
She made it clear that winning was essential, explaining, “I’d have to win.” Mark, having been on Dancing with the Stars for so long, already has three Mirrorball trophies to his name.
The Broadway actor is confident his wife, Brittany Jean Carlson, has a natural talent for dance, describing her as having ‘natural rhythm’.
Even though the couple has been married for almost ten years and make music together as Alexander Jean, BC jokingly said that if her husband became the leader, it would be a new experience for her, as she’s usually the one taking charge.
“It would be a lot of fun,” she said. “We might kill each other in the process.”
She chuckled, saying, “The thought of actually having to listen to him is the issue. I’d have to completely agree and stay quiet!”
As her husband prepares to perform at the Tonys in a celebration of Chicago‘s 30th anniversary, BC is thrilled to support him.
“It never gets old,” she said of watching Mark take the stage, “because he’s phenomenal.”
She said that every time she sees him perform on Broadway, he amazes her by bringing something new and unique to each role. She’s always surprised and feels like she’s watching a completely different person, not her husband, and is completely engrossed in the performance. She believes that’s the highest praise an actor could receive.
