Marshawn Kneeland’s girlfriend is focusing on the happy moments during a difficult chapter.
Six months after the NFL player’s death, which was ruled a suicide, his pregnant girlfriend, Catalina Mancera, posted a photo of her shower online.
Catalina shared on Instagram on May 11th how grateful she is for the people in her life, posting a series of photos from a recent celebration. She wrote that their love and support have been a bright spot during a difficult time.
Oh my gosh, she’s just the sweetest! She said she’s SO thankful for everyone who came to the celebration for her and the baby, but also for all the love and support she got from people who couldn’t be there in person. It just melts my heart! She really appreciates every single person, and it shows. I’m seriously obsessed with how genuine she is!
Catalina also thanked both her and Marshawn’s families for organizing the party.
She said she’ll always be grateful for the kindness, prayers, and support that helped her get through everything.
Along with her announcement, Catalina shared photos from her baby shower. These included blue cookies decorated with “Baby Kneeland,” and plenty of other pink and blue decorations.
The Western Michigan University graduate also posted pictures of herself and her family at the event—a charming barn with twinkling lights—showing off her baby bump.
This is Catalina’s first social media post of the year. It comes after she shared several heartfelt messages following the November 2025 passing of a Dallas Cowboys defensive end.
Less than a month after her boyfriend died, Catalina shared her grief, writing that she wasn’t just mourning him, but also the future they had planned together. She explained that they had envisioned the coming year as their best yet, filled with dreams of marriage and a family, and now those dreams would remain just that – dreams.

Despite her sadness, Catalina promised to always keep her husband’s memory alive, particularly as she looks forward to raising their child.
Oh my gosh, she said it! She actually said, “It was and always will be, you for me!” It just… it confirms everything! I always knew it was destiny, that there was a reason we connected. She believes God brought us together, and even though she wished for more time, she’s so thankful for what we did have. It’s like she’s saying she’ll always be my guardian angel, watching over me… forever. I can’t even breathe right now!
For a look back on Marshawn’s life in photos, keep reading…

Marshawn Kneeland‘s football career started long before his time at the NFL.
While in high school in Michigan, Marshawn had a standout senior year, making 110 tackles and 8 sacks on defense. He also excelled on offense with 20 catches for 330 yards and 5 touchdowns.

After finishing school, Marshawn went to Western Michigan University and played football for four years, making a total of 149 tackles and 12.5 sacks.

The athlete was known for his dedication during his time at school. He consistently spent extra time at the team’s facilities, both practicing and studying game film.
According to his coach, David Denham, that’s when he really began to stand out from the rest of the team.

The Dallas Cowboys drafted Marshawn in the second round of 2024, and team owner Jerry Jones famously told him, “We’re going to put a star on that helmet.”
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve met a lot of young athletes, and their enthusiasm is always infectious. This particular player really embraced the moment, telling me draft night felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience and that he was simply thrilled to be there. It’s a beautiful thing to witness that level of genuine excitement!

Marshawn carried his strong work ethic with him when he joined the NFL and began preparing for his rookie season.

As for how he was approaching the NFL, Marshawn just wanted to stick to his game plan.
Oh my gosh, he said exactly what I’ve always known! He’s going to be himself out there, which is amazing. He’s going to be all energy and hustle – super physical, incredibly fast, with insane stamina. He basically said it’s all about making those game-changing plays, and honestly, I know he will. I just know it! He’s going to be a force!

During his time with the Texas team, the 24-year-old player participated in 18 games, starting four of them. He finished with a total of 26 tackles and one sack.

Just days before his death, Marshawn scored his first touchdown in the league.
According to his agent, Jonathan Perzley, Marshawn dedicated himself completely to football, giving his all in every game and practice. Perzley expressed immense grief, saying it’s incredibly difficult to describe the pain of losing someone with such talent, a positive attitude, and a kind heart.
