Rumors that Marvel Studios wants to work with director Jordan Peele, who has won an Academy Award, have gotten fans excited about the possibility. Although there’s no official announcement yet, most fans agree on which Marvel movie he should direct.
Most Marvel fans had the same pick for Jordan Peele to direct
There’s been talk that Marvel Studios is interested in working with Jordan Peele as they plan future projects after the current ‘Multiverse Saga.’ The rumor, originally reported by Daniel Richtman, didn’t say what Peele might work on, but it got attention when his production company, Monkeypaw Productions, responded with a suggestive ‘side-eye’ emoji.
I saw this rumor going around and honestly, it got me so excited! Everyone immediately started talking about what movie Jordan Peele should tackle next, and there’s definitely one pick that everyone seems to agree on – it’s overwhelmingly the most popular choice!
After the announcement on X (formerly Twitter), fans immediately started suggesting ideas, and many focused on Marvel’s more mysterious and supernatural characters. One user shared images of Blade and Ghost Rider, saying, “Either of these would be great to see your take on—or even a series based on the Midnight Sons!” with the hashtag #MCU.
I saw a lot of fans online practically begging for a Blade appearance, with some even saying, ‘Just be Blade!’ One person had a fantastic idea, suggesting Marvel team up with Ryan Coogler to make a ‘Midnight Sons’ movie – and honestly, I’m here for it. It’s clear people are really excited about seeing these darker, supernatural characters on screen.
Throughout the conversation, Blade was the most frequently requested character. The original live-action film, starring Wesley Snipes, debuted in 1998 and uniquely combined superhero and vampire themes. Many fans feel Jordan Peele’s experience with similar genres makes him an ideal director for the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s take on Blade, which is still reportedly in the works despite being temporarily removed from Marvel’s release schedule.
The excitement for a new Blade film is also connected to hopes for a “Midnight Sons” movie, which would bring together more shadowy Marvel characters. Many fans have pointed to Jordan Peele’s background in horror, imagining the unique, spooky take he could bring to a team-up led by Blade.
Besides Blade and Midnight Sons, many fans have suggested other darker Marvel characters, like Moon Knight and Ghost Rider, as a good fit for Jordan Peele’s style of filmmaking. There’s been talk that Marvel is considering adding Ghost Rider to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, possibly as part of a team-up movie or in his own solo film.
For now, Marvel has made no official announcement.
