Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is Entering “The Final Stages” of Development, Says Producer

Arc System Works released a new trailer for Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls at EVO Japan 2026. The trailer revealed a new team of characters, the Fighting Avengers, which includes classic heroes like Captain America and Iron Man alongside newer additions such as Black Panther and Hulk.

The game’s latest version, featuring these characters, will be showcased at Combo Breaker 2026 on May 22nd and Hong Kong Comic Con on May 29th, but more announcements are still on the way. Producer Takeshi Yamanaka shared on the PlayStation Blog that development is nearly complete, and the team is dedicated to making the launch experience as good as possible.

So far, we’ve seen 13 characters and 5 stages (like Wakanda) that will be playable at the upcoming events. While rumors suggest the game will launch with around 20 characters, there are still more to be revealed. These new characters might be included in the Year One Character and Stage Pass, and we could also see an open beta test sometime soon.

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls launches on August 6th for PlayStation 5 and PC, priced at $59.99. The game features a team-up of Marvel’s heroes and villains battling each other, all while trying to defeat The Champion – a powerful ancient being with an insatiable hunger for combat who threatens to destroy planets if he isn’t challenged.
