Manga is becoming incredibly popular around the world, so it’s not surprising that American comic book companies are starting to create their own. Marvel has been working with Shonen Jump to tell new stories featuring its famous characters in the manga style. A great example is the manga series about Deadpool, but it hasn’t been available recently. Fortunately, Marvel has just announced some exciting news for both Deadpool fans and manga readers about Wade Wilson’s return.
The popular manga series Deadpool: Samurai, a collaboration between Shonen Jump and Marvel Comics created by Sanshiro Kasama and Hikaru Uesugi, is returning after a hiatus. Originally launched in 2020, the series paused in October 2024, but will resume releasing new chapters starting January 15th. Shueisha announced the return to celebrate the occasion.
Shonen Jump announced that Deadpool: Samurai is back! The series will continue with new chapters starting January 15th. To celebrate, the first five chapters of the second season are available to read for free until January 15th, so you can catch up on all the action!

Last Time on Deadpool: Samurai
The latest chapter of Deadpool: Samurai, number 20, left Wade Wilson in a serious battle. It ended on a cliffhanger with Deadpool fighting a version of himself from another reality! This isn’t just any alternate Deadpool, though – it’s a combination of Deadpool and Wolverine, a character who’s actually appeared in Marvel comics before, as Deadpool points out. The chapter finished with these two Deadpools preparing for a huge showdown, so the next installment is sure to be action-packed.
If you haven’t seen Deadpool: Samurai yet, it has some amazing moments that will appeal to fans of both Marvel and anime. A standout scene features All Might from My Hero Academia teaming up with Deadpool to battle Thanos! The series also includes appearances by other popular Marvel heroes like Captain America, Spider-Man, and Black Widow, all within a manga-style story. With more episodes coming later this month, we can expect even more fun cameos and crossovers between the Marvel universe and Shonen Jump characters.
I’m so excited about Deadpool getting a new manga! Seriously, this is awesome news! I’d love to hear what everyone else thinks – let’s chat about it over on the ComicBook Forum, I’ll be there!
