Today marks the release date for DC Studios’ Superman, but Marvel Studios is reminding fans that their eagerly awaited superhero reboot, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, is just around the corner in a few weeks. A fresh trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps has been unveiled (have a look below) as tickets for the movie go on sale, and this time the marketing strategy takes a twist by embracing once more the retro-futuristic 1960s atmosphere of the film. This new trailer mimics the style of a ’60s-era movie trailer, complete with a suave narrator who pitches the film’s highlights to the audience (“Action!” “Romance!”). It also provides quirky character descriptions and key moments for each member of the Fantastic Four (“Johnny: He’s a heartthrob!” “Sue: She’s elusive…”) and offers a “Fantastivision” premium format. Amidst the trailer’s stylish flair, Marvel Studios subtly previews some high-quality action sequences and visual effects that far exceed any footage previously released.
