As the current X-Men storyline, Age of Revelation, wraps up, a new chapter called “Shadows of Tomorrow” will begin in January. This new era picks up where Age of Revelation left off, with the mutants grappling with a troubling vision of the future and desperately trying to change course to avoid it. Among the exciting new titles launching with this era is Inglorious X-Force, and ComicBook has a first look.
The first issue of Inglorious X-Force, written by Tim Seely and illustrated by Michael Sta. Maria, will be available on January 21, 2026. This series is a major reboot for X-Force, prominently featuring Cable and introducing Boom-Boom as a new member. Plus, eagle-eyed readers might recognize a familiar face—a character who hasn’t been seen in years—hidden on the preview page below.
The New X-Force Team Has a Mystery of Memory on Their Hands

Did you spot her? That’s Unveil, down in the bottom left corner. She first showed up in the 2019 comic Age of X-Man: Apocalypse & the X-Tracts #1. It’ll be fascinating to see what part she plays in this story, especially since we don’t know what happened to her before. But that’s just one of the mysteries! In Inglorious X-Force #1, Cable comes back from the future with some hints… but he’s forgotten a lot. Someone is about to be assassinated, and it’s up to Hellverine, Archangel, and Boom-Boom to follow Cable’s clues, even if they lead into danger. Who are they trying to stop, and what is Cable hiding? Join us at the beginning of this thrilling mystery as a brand-new X-Force team jumps into action!
X-Fans Will Have a Lot to Explore in the Shadows of Tomorrow
Marvel is launching a new era for its X-Men comics called Shadows of Tomorrow, building on the events of the Age of Revelation. This exciting initiative will affect many X-Men titles, with some continuing like the popular Uncanny X-Men (written by Gail Simone) and X-Men (by Jed MacKay). Several new series are also planned, including a five-issue Cyclops series starting in February (written by Alex Paknadel with art by Roge Antonio) and a Storm: Earth’s Mightiest Mutant series (by Murewa Ayodele and Federica Mancin). Fans can also look forward to new titles featuring Magik & Colossus, Deadpool, Generation X-23, and more.
Inglorious X-Force #1 goes on sale January 21, 2026.
