It’s been some time since Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 impressed us with its enjoyable story about Peter Parker and Miles Morales protecting New York from Venom. However, even while working on the upcoming game Marvel’s Wolverine, Insomniac Games appears to still be supporting the previous title.
A recent post on Bluesky announced that to celebrate the July 31, 2026, release of the movie Spider-Man: Brand New Day, a new suit for Peter Parker will be added to the game. This ‘Fresh Start’ suit looks like the one Tom Holland wears in the film, and it’s even better news that it will be available as part of a free update on July 28, 2026.
This seems like mostly a visual update without any gameplay benefits, but it’s still a great excuse to revisit a beloved game. It’ll be fun to experience everything again with some new outfits and look even better while doing it.
We really enjoyed it in our review, and the game has been very successful for Insomniac since its initial release on consoles and later on PC.
On July 28th, Spider-Man 2 players on PlayStation 5 and PC will receive a free in-game update adding a suit inspired by the ‘Fresh Start’ look from the Spider-Man: Brand New Day comic series.
