Marvel’s Wolverine Leak Sheds Light on Release Date

A recent PlayStation leak has given us more details about the release of Marvel’s Wolverine. Insomniac Games announced last year that the game would be coming in Fall 2026, but we haven’t heard much since then. Now, it looks like we have a clearer idea of when this highly anticipated PlayStation 5 exclusive will finally be released.

I was checking the PlayStation Store in Latin America and noticed something really interesting on Reddit! The game description for Marvel’s Wolverine actually listed a release window of sometime in the third quarter of 2026 – basically between July and September. PlayStation had previously said it would be out in the fall, and a September release would definitely fit that timeframe. The description has been changed now, so it’s hard to say if it was a mistake, but if it’s accurate, it’s the clearest idea we’ve gotten so far about when we’ll finally be able to play Wolverine on PS5!

Honestly, a September release for Marvel’s Wolverine just feels right. Insomniac has launched big games around then before – I remember the first Marvel’s Spider-Man on PS4 came out in September, and it was huge! Seeing Wolverine drop around the same time would make a lot of sense, especially since that September launch really worked for Spider-Man sales-wise.

PlayStation likely doesn’t want to release Marvel’s Wolverine too close to the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI in November. GTA VI is expected to be incredibly popular and could overshadow sales of other games released around the same time. Releasing Wolverine in September would give PlayStation a safe buffer, avoiding a direct clash with Rockstar Games’ highly anticipated title.

Currently, the only confirmed information is that Marvel’s Wolverine will be released later this year and will only be available on the PS5. We might get a new look at gameplay during PlayStation’s upcoming State of Play presentation.
