May 14th is shaping up to be an exciting day for Xbox Game Pass members, including those with Ultimate, PC, or Premium subscriptions. The biggest new game coming to Game Pass in 2026 so far will be available on day one for Ultimate and PC subscribers. While Premium subscribers don’t often get games on day one, a significant game currently exclusive to PC and Ultimate will also be added to the Premium tier on the same day.
Let’s talk about the new games coming to Xbox Game Pass. First, Subnautica 2 will launch into early access on May 14th for PC and Xbox Series X. It will be immediately available with both PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. This is shaping up to be the biggest Game Pass release of the year so far, though Forza Horizon 6 is coming soon. The other addition is DOOM: The Dark Ages, which has been available on Ultimate and PC tiers since its release, but is now finally being added to the Premium tier, about a year after launch.
Subnautica 2 – Ultimate and PC
Subnautica 2 is the next installment in the popular underwater survival series that began with Subnautica in 2018, followed by Subnautica: Below Zero in 2021. It will launch in early access on May 7th, but excitement is already high. The original Subnautica was a major indie success, selling millions of copies, so this anticipation is understandable.
DOOM: The Dark Ages – Premium
Okay, so DOOM: The Dark Ages came out in 2025. It’s the latest installment in the long-running DOOM series – you know, the one that started way back in the 90s! I was excited because it’s the third game in the rebooted storyline, following up on the awesome 2016 DOOM and DOOM Eternal from 2020. Bethesda published it, and since they’re now part of Xbox, it was available on Game Pass right away, which was a huge win. Critics seemed to like it too, giving it an 85 on Metacritic.
