Michael Fassbender’s epic spy thriller series confirms return date as new episodes get first look

I’m so excited! Michael Fassbender is returning as the awesome CIA agent, Martian, in the new installment of The Agency. And this time, it’s not just about duty – it’s personal, which makes it even more interesting!

The gripping spy series returns for its second season, and new photos reveal Michael Fassbender’s character seeking revenge in a desert setting.

Martian, who had been living a quiet life in disguise, is suddenly pulled back into the dangerous world of the CIA when his partner, Samia (Jodie Turner-Smith), is captured in Sudan as a political prisoner.

Martian decided to take matters into his own hands and immediately launched into a full-scale effort to win her back – and photos suggest he didn’t hold back!

But as he tries harder to save her, he quickly begins to compromise his own values and sense of right and wrong.

He quickly goes too far, even resorting to betrayal, all in an attempt to win her back. But with so much on the line, can he stay focused and succeed?

Viewers can binge-watch the entire series—all 10 episodes will be available at once when it premieres on June 21st.

By the beginning of season 2, Martian was in a difficult situation. He’d been discovered and was now forced to secretly work for the British intelligence agency, putting him in a tough spot.

Michael Fassbender hinted in April 2025 that the next installments will be just as gripping and suspenseful as the first, describing the situation as increasingly claustrophobic and intense.

The suspense and danger continue to build throughout the second season, never letting up.

Inspired by the French thriller Le Bureau des Légendes, The Agency features a strong cast, with Jeffrey Wright playing Henry Ogletree, the deputy station chief in London, and Richard Gere as the CIA station chief known as Bosko.

I’m really excited to hear that Christian Ochoa Lavernia, who I loved in Silo, is joining the cast as a regular! And it’s great news that we’ll also be seeing Clayne Crawford (I remember him from Chad Powers!), Keanush Tafreshi, Medalion Rahimi, Raza Jaffrey, and Tessa Ferrer – they’re all fantastic actors who will be popping up in recurring roles. It’s shaping up to be a really strong cast!

The Agency season 2 launches on Paramount+ from 21 June.
