Michelle Obama is shutting down Barack Obama divorce rumors once again in her own unique way.
Michelle, aged 61, stated on the “Wild Card” podcast episode released on June 26th that people’s assumption that she isn’t out with her husband on dates fuels rumors about our marriage ending. In her words, it feels like we are living in “the apocalypse.
Rather than sharing each instant with her husband, the ex-first lady chooses to savor the present without feeling compelled to capture every moment on camera.
She humorously told host Rachel Martin, “We’re not posting our every moment on Instagram because we’re 60. You won’t catch us sharing what we’re doing every minute of the day. Yes, we may be famous, but at 60, we don’t spend our time taking selfies.
Based on Michelle’s statement, her spouse, who is 63 years old, also enjoys the buzz generated by discussions about their relationship.
She replied, “Barack was joking, ‘You never capture any moments of our actions,'” to which I responded, “I wasn’t considering taking a photo at that moment.
Michelle and Barack have been married since 1992 and share two daughters: Malia, 26, and Sasha, 24.
On their 32nd wedding anniversary in October 2024, Barack posted a picture of him and Michelle.

Celebrating our 32-year milestone today, my dear Michelle Obama! There’s simply no one else I’d rather share this incredible journey of life with. Here’s to many more years of friendship, love, and partnership!
Lately, the ex-president expressed appreciation for Michelle over Mother’s Day weekend on Instagram, saying, “To @MichelleObama, the family and I feel incredibly fortunate to have you around. We adore you.
This isn’t the first time Michelle has addressed rumors about her marriage.
Following my absence at President Donald Trump’s inauguration back in January, I felt compelled to address rumors swirling about the potential strife within our marriage.
On a recent episode of ‘IMO with Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson’, Michelle said something along the lines of: ‘People just couldn’t fathom why I was turning things down, so they assumed there must be trouble in my marriage. But here I am, making deliberate choices for myself and living life on my own terms.’
In maintaining their strong bond, Barack and Michelle put in effort and occasionally seek guidance from couples therapy.
Michelle noted during a May episode of “The Diary of a CEO” podcast, “Success doesn’t necessarily make things easier; in fact, it might still be tough because now you’re cultivating a life.” She added that she believes many people abandon their marriages too easily due to the inherent tension that comes with the partnership.
