If Michelle Randolph feels it, she chases it—but she’s not talking about it.
After rumors began circulating three months ago about a romance between the actress from Landman and Glen Powell, Michelle explained why she prefers to keep their relationship private, sharing it only with close friends and family.
She explained to Bustle in a February 23rd interview that she keeps her personal and professional lives very distinct. She recognizes that her job comes with public attention, which is something she’s accepted.
I really try to keep my personal and professional life separate for my own well-being,” she explained. “It can be difficult, but it’s something I prioritize.
The 28-year-old was sure to praise her boyfriend, however, describing him as a “wonderful actor.”
Ever since reports surfaced in November that she and the actor from Twisters were seen together in Austin, they’ve been happily spending time as a couple.
Michelle and the 37-year-old spent the new year together in St. Barts with friends, including Alix Earle, Miles Teller, Nina Dobrev, and Chord Overstreet. They also celebrated together at an F1 event in December.
It looks like things are getting serious between the star of 1923 and Glen Powell! She’s already bonding with his mother, Cydney Powell, and they’re both planning to join him at the 2026 Golden Globes later this month.
I’ve been following Glen’s relationships closely, and while his new thing with Michelle is getting a lot of attention – it’s his first big romance since he and Gigi Paris split last year – I remember everyone buzzing about his chemistry with Sydney Sweeney during the Anyone But You press tour! There was so much speculation they were creating a romance for publicity, but he’s since clarified that wasn’t the case, which is good to know.
As someone who’s spent years observing what makes a great romantic comedy, I can tell you it all boils down to two things: fun and genuine chemistry between the leads. Luckily, Sydney and I have that in spades! We genuinely enjoy each other’s company, and that easy connection just translates on screen. It’s about giving audiences something they want to emulate, and sometimes you have to let that natural spark shine through – and in our case, it really paid off!

Sydney, who has been dating Scooter Braun since her breakup with her fiancé Jonathan Davino, claimed she and Braun didn’t exaggerate their connection for public attention.
I’ve been following this closely, and honestly, it seems like the media really drove the whole narrative. As the person said, it wasn’t about anyone ‘leaning in’ – the tabloids and journalists just took things and ran with it, creating the story themselves and constantly fueling it.
She stressed that she and Glen have a real connection built on love and respect. She enjoys spending time with him and believes viewers recognized how well-suited they were as a couple.
Glen and Sydney aren’t the first celebrities whose on-set chemistry led to dating rumors. Here are some other actors who seemed like a couple, but weren’t actually together…

Okay, so Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell? I was convinced they were a thing! Seriously, the chemistry was off the charts in ‘Anyone But You,’ and then the press tour happened… all the flirting, the photos! Everyone was losing it. But apparently, it was all just for show. They kept saying they were just friends, and now it seems like that’s actually true. I’m still holding out hope, honestly, but yeah, they insist it was all platonic. It’s a tragedy, really!
According to Glen, the key ingredients for a successful romantic comedy are enjoyment and a believable connection between the leads. He shared with the New York Times in April 2024 that he and Sydney have a lot of fun working together and a natural chemistry. He believes audiences respond to that authenticity and want to see that connection extend beyond the screen, and in this case, it really paid off. He also praised Sydney, noting that she is very intelligent.
Let me tell you, when Glen and I were promoting our rom-com, a lot of people wondered if we were intentionally creating buzz by hinting at a connection. But honestly, we didn’t play up any chemistry! At the time, I was actually engaged to Jonathan Davino – we were together for seven wonderful years before parting ways in March 2025 – and Glen and I just genuinely enjoyed working together. It was all very natural.
The media created the situation themselves, not through any encouragement from us,” she explained to Variety in October 2025. “The tabloids and journalists simply fabricated the story and continued to fuel it.
She stressed that she and Glen have a real connection built on love and respect. She enjoys spending time with him and believes viewers recognized how well-suited they were as a couple.

Emma Watson has revealed she had a childhood crush on her Harry Potter co-star, Tom Felton (who played Draco Malfoy). During the 20th anniversary special, she admitted to falling in love with him while filming Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, excitedly checking the daily call sheet for his name. While fans playfully wished for a romance between them after the special aired, Emma clarified in an interview with British Vogue that they remain close friends and enjoy their connection. They talk regularly and find the fan speculation “sweet,” putting any dating rumors to rest.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m always fascinated by the stories behind our favorite on-screen couples, and the connection between Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer was truly special! During the Friends reunion, they revealed they actually had feelings for each other during the first season! It was a classic case of timing, though. As David explained, they were both crushing on each other, but one of them was always dating someone else, so they never acted on it – they were respectful of those boundaries. Jennifer even joked about how it would be a shame if their first kiss was on national television, and wouldn’t you know it, it happened right there in Central Perk! Instead of pursuing a real-life romance, they channeled all that energy and affection into making Ross and Rachel so believable and beloved. It just proves how much chemistry and connection can translate onto the screen!

Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet are one of the most beloved on-screen couples ever, and fans have been hoping they’d get together since their 1996 film, Titanic (even jokingly lamenting the lack of space on that famous door!). Despite never becoming a couple romantically, they’ve maintained a close friendship, with Kate recently sharing that they’re “bonded for life.” From red carpet appearances at the 1998 Golden Globes to DiCaprio’s supportive gestures during Winslet’s emotional 2009 Golden Globes acceptance speech, it’s clear their connection has only deepened over the last twenty-plus years.

The intense chemistry between the actors in the 2019 film A Star Is Born, and their public appearances together, led many fans to believe they were a couple, despite the fact that the actor was dating Irina Shayk and the singer was engaged to Christian Carano at the time.
It was obvious they shared a strong connection, with Lady Gaga saying she felt an immediate bond with Bradley Cooper from the moment they met.
This closeness was particularly evident during their performance of their award-winning song, “Shallow,” at the 2019 Oscars, which took place shortly after Lady Gaga ended her engagement.
Following their performance, Lady Gaga quickly dismissed rumors of a romance with Bradley Cooper, telling Jimmy Kimmel that the connection they displayed was intentional. Cooper, who later split from Irina Shayk that year, didn’t address the speculation until November 2021, when he told The Hollywood Reporter that their chemistry was part of the act. He explained that their characters in the film were falling in love during that scene, and the performance captured an explosive moment between them. He joked that it would have been awkward if they hadn’t appeared to connect while performing in front of a large audience.

For decades, fans have speculated about a romance between Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock after they starred in the 1994 film Speed. However, Sandra has repeatedly denied they were ever a couple. In an interview with Esquire, she playfully said, “Nope…but who knows?” She explained that Keanu is the kind of person who remains friends with all his former partners, and she wonders if they could have made it work if things had been different. Ultimately, she’s happy they’ve been able to maintain a close friendship over the years, supporting each other’s careers.
The pair also starred together in the 2006 film The Lake House and remain close. Sandra particularly appreciates Keanu’s ability to listen. She recalled a story from about a year after filming Speed, when she casually mentioned she’d never tried champagne and truffles. A few days later, Keanu surprised her by delivering both, along with flowers, simply explaining he thought she might like to try them.

Fans love seeing Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone together on screen, especially since they’ve played love interests in three movies, including La La Land.
Although they’ve never been a couple in real life, working together has created a strong connection between them. At a 2018 film festival, Emma shared how much Ryan means to her and how he’s influenced her life and career, calling him a “dear, wonderful friend.” She admitted she couldn’t imagine her life without him, saying he’s “so special” and it makes her emotional.
Before La La Land came out in 2016, Emma jokingly told a news outlet that Ryan had a “restraining order” against her due to how often they worked together.
Despite the joke, Ryan said he enjoyed working with Emma, explaining that their familiarity helps them both deliver their best performances because they can support each other in ways strangers couldn’t.

Jim and Pam’s relationship on The Office is one of television’s most popular couples, and fans were invested in seeing them together throughout the show’s nine seasons.
Despite the strong on-screen connection, actors John Krasinski and Jenna Fischer never became romantically involved. However, Jenna admitted in 2016 that they shared a genuine connection, explaining that parts of her and John embodied the characters’ feelings for each other. She clarified that while they weren’t a perfect match in real life, John was a significant partner to her, and they remain close because of their shared experience.
John later responded to Jenna’s comments in an interview with The Daily Beast, saying he believes they both cherish being part of that iconic relationship. He felt her quote about being “genuinely in love” was misinterpreted and expressed concern that she was taken out of context.
Their connection, at least on screen, will always be remembered fondly – a sentiment playfully referenced by the show’s famous teapot gift.

Bradley Cooper has faced romantic rumors with co-stars before Lady Gaga. His chemistry with Jennifer Lawrence in films like Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle led to years of speculation. Back in 2015, Howard Stern directly asked Cooper when he and Lawrence would become a couple, to which Cooper firmly replied, “Never. It’s just not the way we are together.” Similarly, at the 2013 Golden Globes, when asked by Entertainment Tonight if he was dating Lawrence, Cooper jokingly denied it, saying, “Oh my god. That’s very funny. No, my God, no.”

Though Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson starred together in the 2006 romantic comedy How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and fans were hoping they’d become a couple in real life, they never dated. In a 2020 interview with Howard Stern, Matthew explained that he generally preferred to keep his work life separate from his romantic life. He said he and his costars, including Kate, were good at maintaining a professional relationship, even if there were occasional crushes. They always prioritized keeping things professional.
And with that, the chance for their love to blossom died, just like that love fern.

These two famous friends have incredible chemistry, both on and off screen – think Ocean’s Eleven! Their connection is purely platonic, evident in their fun interviews, heartfelt public praise for each other, and even George Clooney letting the Roberts-Moder family use his amazing Lake Como home for anniversary trips. It’s a really close friendship!

Okay, so I’m completely obsessed with Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper, and every New Year’s Eve, everyone always asks if they’ve ever dated! It’s hilarious. I was listening to Howard Stern interview Andy, and Howard straight-up asked him why he hasn’t fallen for Anderson. Andy’s answer was so sweet – he said their friendship is just… that. They know each other too well, and there’s just no romantic spark. Can you believe they actually went on a blind date over 25 years ago?! Anderson talked about it on The Tonight Show and said he knew within 45 seconds it wouldn’t work. Apparently, Andy made a HUGE dating mistake – he asked about Anderson’s mom, Gloria Vanderbilt, on the very first call! Anderson said that was a total dealbreaker. But Andy admitted he was SO excited to date ‘the Vanderbilt boy’! Seriously, they’re the cutest, even if they’re just friends. I live for their banter!

Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt had a great time filming the 2009 movie 500 Days of Summer, but Joseph later said in a 2012 Playboy interview that dating her would have been awkward, despite their long friendship. He acknowledged fans often hoped they’d become a couple, saying they both found it amusing. They’d been friends for a decade at that point.

Before Zac Efron officially dated his High School Musical co-star Vanessa Hudgens, many people thought he was involved with their close friend, Ashley. Their chemistry on a 2006 episode of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody only added to the speculation.
Even now, Zac and Ashley remain very close, with Ashley often referring to him as her “brother/best friend.” However, she jokingly called him her worst onscreen kiss in an interview with Elle.
She explained that it felt awkward because they were like siblings and were both new to the world of onscreen romance. He was used to the style of acting on the CW, while they were on Disney Channel, and he tried to kiss her with too much enthusiasm.
Ashley remembers quickly shutting him down, telling him, “Get away from me!” She pointed out that it was Disney Channel and kisses weren’t supposed to be like that. She added that their close relationship, after knowing each other for years and already having worked on a movie together, made the experience especially strange.

Though they played a couple – Chad and Taylor – on High School Musical, Corbin Bleu and Monique Coleman remained close friends after leaving the Disney series.
The pair recently shared the screen again in the 2021 Lifetime Christmas movie, A Christmas Dance Reunion. Corbin shared on Instagram that working and dancing with Monique after 13 years felt like reconnecting with family, and that starring in a Lifetime Christmas movie had always been a dream, especially alongside a dear friend.
Monique also expressed hope for future collaborations with “one of her best friends.” In an interview with People, she compared their on-screen chemistry to iconic movie couples like Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, and Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, believing they have similar potential and hoping to explore it further.

Despite playing the famously ambiguous couple Mulder and Scully on The X-Files, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reportedly didn’t get along during filming. In a 2008 interview with Metro UK, David explained that they frequently argued during the show’s first eight years, simply because they grew too familiar with each other. He said it wasn’t personal, they just “couldn’t stand the sight of each other.”
Despite their on-set friction, fans remained invested in a potential romance between the characters – and the actors themselves. A photo from a lunch date in May 2021 went viral, which David found amusing. He told People that Gillian suggested they take the picture, and he was surprised by the positive reaction it received, saying it was “really cool” to see people still interested in their connection after so many years.

As someone who follows celebrity connections, I get asked all the time about Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans! They’ve shared the screen in eight films together, going all the way back to The Perfect Score in 2004, and fans are always hoping for something more. But despite all that on-screen chemistry, they’ve never actually dated. What they have built is something really special – a deep comfort and intimacy. Scarlett actually told Entertainment Weekly that comes from a decade of knowing someone well, truly understanding their vulnerabilities, and just spending a lot of time together. It’s that level of connection that translates so beautifully on screen, even if it’s not a romantic one!
