Mighty Morphin Power Rangers remains a popular part of pop culture, even more than 30 years after it first appeared. While the franchise mainly appears in TV shows, films, and video games, some of the actors who starred in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers have also pursued music. This includes one of the original stars who helped launch the series, and once you’ve heard the new song and seen the video, you’ll find it hard to stop thinking about it.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers actor Walter Emanuel Jones, who famously played the original Black Ranger, Zack Taylor, first shared Hip Hop Kido with audiences during his time on the show. Now, Jones is launching his music career as Tre Emanuel, and his latest release, a straight-up Hip Hop track called Walk in the Park, is available through ATO Worldwide.
This new song is a departure from his debut album, Dance, which leaned more towards pop and R&B. On Dance, Emanuel mostly sang, but in Walk in the Park, he primarily raps. The chorus is particularly memorable and stays with you even after the song finishes. You can view the complete music video above.
Jumping Into Music

Emanuel first released Dance two years ago, but the official music video just came out recently. Walk in the Park, however, had a video released with the song itself, which suggests this might be one of several singles leading up to a larger album or EP. We’ll need to wait and see what happens next.
Emanuel discussed how his first song on Fanward came to be, and shared his background with singing. He explained what inspired him to start making music. Emanuel said he’s always loved to sing and rap, but he only recently began recording and releasing his work. He hadn’t seriously pursued it until recently.
I’ve always loved music and have been singing my whole life. I performed at events like my cousin’s wedding and sang in church. I enjoy singing and rapping, but I hadn’t seriously tried to release any of my music,” Jones said. “I felt inspired to start, and my first released song is all about encouraging people to dance, because I believe dancing is a fantastic way to release and share positive energy,” Emanuel said.
“So I frequently attend Comic-Cons, and while I’m there, I often play music. People will approach me feeling anxious, saying things like ‘I’m so nervous to meet you,’ and I just start the music and dance along with them,” Jones said. “They leave feeling happy, still dancing and cheerful, and that’s what this song is about. I want to share my energetic dancing with others. If you’re having a difficult day, like we all do sometimes, I want you to listen to some music-listen to this song-and let it lift your spirits. Let it make you bop your head,” Emanuel said.
What’s Next for Power Rangers
Regarding Power Rangers, fans most recently saw Jones return as Zack in the 30th Anniversary Special Once & Always on Netflix. This special continued the recent storyline and focused on the impact of Trini Kwan, while also bringing her daughter, Minh, into the series as the new Yellow Ranger.
When it comes to Power Rangers actors potentially returning in the future, anything is possible. Currently, the franchise is in a bit of an uncertain state. However, there are reports that Paramount is developing a new movie, and Hasbro is creating a new TV series for Disney+. If any returning actors were to appear, it would most likely be in one of these upcoming projects.
