Mikayla Matthews & Jace Terry Joke About Divorce Amid Separation

Mikayla Matthews and Jace Terry know their relationship woes are no secret.

The stars of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, who revealed they were separating on season four of the Hulu reality show, made light of their marital difficulties in a playful social media post.

In a TikTok video posted on March 22nd, 26-year-old Mikayla announced she is getting a divorce, using a popular audio clip from beauty influencer Mikayla Noguiera.

A few seconds later, Jace, age 30, walked into view, and his wife, from whom he is separated, reacted with exaggerated shock while she was eating fast food.

“Take a minute, take it in,” the audio continued. “I am getting a divorce.”

Mikayla didn’t stop with just the post, though. She also tagged her ex-boyfriend in the caption and jokingly declared that Taco Bell was her one true love.

Even though Mikayla recently shared a lighthearted post, she’s explained that she and her husband, Jace, didn’t make the difficult decision to separate after eight years of marriage easily. They share four children: Beckham, 8, Haven, 6, Tommie, 4, and Lottie, who is 8 months old.

In a recent episode, she revealed that Jace and she spent the night discussing whether to separate. She explained she’s feeling overwhelmed by online criticism – specifically from ‘MomTok’ – and the pressure to fix their marriage, and that they’ve both decided to try a separation.

Mikayla also made it clear that she didn’t want a permanent split, telling Jace that she didn’t believe they’d be apart forever.

Mikayla, who has openly discussed her struggles with intimacy, is focusing on getting through each day as it comes and isn’t making plans for the future right now.

She recently shared with People magazine that she and another person are still adjusting to a new situation and figuring things out as they go. She added that it will likely take a considerable amount of time to fully resolve, and she doesn’t have much more to say about it at this point.

Taylor was accused by a woman named Jenna of having a relationship with Dakota, claiming they had been intimate on multiple occasions. Taylor has publicly denied these claims, stating in a TikTok post from September 2024 that he was faithful.

On the series, Taylor said that Dakota accused Jenna of instigating their affair.

She told the interviewer, “It was him, I’m sure.” He claimed he’d only kissed her on the couch, but she corrected him. He actually went on the couch with her, they became intimate there, and then continued in another room.”

After her breakup with the founder of Basin Tiling, the mother of three (who shares two children with her former husband, Tate Paul) was preparing to look for love on season 22 of The Bachelorette. However, things became complicated in March 2026 when reports surfaced of a possible argument between her and her ex-husband a few weeks prior.

A representative from the Draper City Police Department told People magazine they are investigating a possible domestic assault. Both people involved have accused each other, according to police.

For instance, the Dancing With the Stars alum had to shut down rumors about her husband’s sexuality.

She explained that he had battled a pornography addiction, something I wasn’t aware of personally. She mentioned a scene where a friend observed his confusion regarding sexuality, suggesting it was evident to those around him.

Conner shared with Brides that he and his partner got married at a young age. Jen and Zac Affleck, who are married and unrelated to Ben Affleck despite what people say, have been dealing with breakup rumors since 2019, when they first became a public couple.

A major storyline in the first season of their show revolved around a fight they had after Jen went to a Chippendales show in Las Vegas. Despite the argument, the couple—parents to Nora, Penelope, and Lucas—eventually reconciled, and the Dancing With the Stars contestant later spoke out to support their relationship.

Jen explained to TopMob News in November 2025 that constantly hearing the same rumors was exhausting. She said she’s learned to expect opinions, but feels it’s frustrating for the person at the center of the speculation when people don’t understand the hard work and effort they’re putting in privately.

She and Zac are prioritizing what’s most important to them, but it’s still a challenge for him to ignore outside distractions.

Unfortunately, the couple’s attempt to reconcile didn’t last, and Jordan filed for divorce in March 2026, ending their five-year marriage.

Mayci never thought she’d find love again, especially after the sudden loss of her boyfriend, Arik Mack, in 2015. She was 14 weeks pregnant with their son, Hudson, at the time and had already accepted the idea of raising him on her own.

But it all changed when she met Jacob in 2016 at age 21, whom she would marry two years later.

In her memoir, Told You So, Mayci explained that she was hesitant to trust anyone after difficult experiences, but she and Jacob connected quickly and became friends. She was comfortable with him meeting her son because their relationship wasn’t romantic at the time; they weren’t officially dating.

Honestly, watching Jacob with him just… it did something to me. He already had my attention, but seeing them together? Unforgettable. I was so scared, you know? Been hurt before, and I really didn’t want to go through that again. But after four months of just watching… I couldn’t pretend anymore. He’s just… so kind and funny, and for the first time in a long time, I actually felt safe around someone.

Mayci and Jacob went on to welcome daughters Harlow in 2021 and Charli in 2025.

Demi Engemann married Bret Engemann in 2021, following her divorce from Blake Corbin the previous year. Their relationship, which was featured on a reality show, gained attention when Whitney gave Demi Fruity Pebbles, leading to discussions about their intimate life.

Jessi revealed the surprising reason behind the joke gift in a November 2025 Instagram post, explaining that her grandfather, Bret, drinks her urine as if it were a soft drink and consumes it quickly like water.

Demi and Bret aren’t upset about the past—or a minor mishap. She told Entertainment Tonight in December that they’ve decided to simply accept what happened and enjoy life.

Despite some public discussion about their intimate life, the couple seems happy as they navigate life with their combined family. Demi has a daughter named Maude from a previous relationship, and Bret has two sons, Rome and Cole, with Angie Harrington, who is known from The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.

In June 2024, Demi shared on Instagram how much she admires her husband’s dedication to his children. She described him as an incredibly loving and devoted father, both to his stepdaughter, Maude, and to the children they plan to have together. She’s constantly amazed by his unwavering commitment to his role as a father, even when facing life’s challenges.

Mikayla and Jace are enjoying raising their four children, but Mikayla has expressed a desire to have even more kids in the future.

In a February 2025 interview with People magazine, she shared that she’s always pictured having three or four children, though she wouldn’t rule out having six. She’s also looking forward to moving to a new house with plenty of outdoor space for her future family.

In the ninth episode of the show’s fourth season, Mikayla revealed that she and Jace were separating temporarily because they were having difficulties with their intimacy.

Mikayla’s marriage suffered as she started to process the difficult experiences of sexual abuse she endured as a teenager, and as her long-term illness worsened with increased stress.

She told Jace that talking about sex or intimacy was difficult for her. She explained that she’s already feeling overwhelmed and on edge, like she’s reached her limit emotionally and can’t handle more at that moment.

Unfortunately, the mom of two confirmed that she and Mason had split in February 2026.

Layla explained that she and her partner were simply heading in different directions, and he needed space to grow as an individual. She said she understands and respects his choice, and she wishes him all the best.

Miranda joined the show The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives in its second season and quickly became central to the widely discussed “soft swinging scandal” involving MomTok personalities. However, despite the controversy with Taylor, Miranda has stated that this situation wasn’t the cause of her divorce from Chase in 2024.

She explained on the Weekly Trash podcast in August 2024 that the reasons for their breakup had been building for a long time. While recent events might not have made things better, she emphasized they weren’t a factor in the decision to split.

Nonetheless, she and Chase have been committed to parenting their kids Brooks and Cohen.

Coparenting requires ongoing effort,” she said thoughtfully. “Honestly, if we’d always been perfectly happy together, we likely wouldn’t have gotten divorced in the first place.

“The thing with him and I,” she continued, “we’ve always had a pretty good foundation of a friendship prior to even having a romantic relationship. I feel like that’s something that set us up for some level of success when it comes to co-parenting.”
