Mikayla Matthews may be a Utahn no more.
A star from The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives recently revealed she moved to Hawaii hoping to find relief from her Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome.
As Mikayla wrote onscreen in her April 29 Instagram video, “Travel with me to heal my skin.”
She announced in a video showcasing her travels that she and her family are moving to Hawaii.
In a recent video, Mikayla, who shares four children – Beckham (8), Haven (6), Tommie (4), and Lottie (9 months) – with her soon-to-be ex-husband, Jace Terry, is shown traveling with two of her kids to a new location.
Despite experiencing several skin reactions during her flight to the island – something she’d previously revealed was related to her CIRS diagnosis – the reality star remained upbeat. She shared her excitement, saying, “I’m just so excited to be here. Positive vibes!”
Mikayla, 26, announced the start of a “new chapter” in a social media post, raving about the beautiful resort she was visiting in Maui. She shared the post with a photo and tagged the resort, @thewestinmaui, exclaiming how stunning it was.
Mikayla didn’t say exactly how long her trip to Hawaii would be, but she expressed gratitude for the opportunity to have some personal time.
She shared in an Instagram video on April 29 that she feels incredibly grateful for her current situation, despite the challenges. She explained that dealing with health issues while also managing family and financial responsibilities is incredibly stressful and overwhelming.

And Mikayla recently detailed that stress while sharing her diagnosis publicly for the first time.
Mikayla shared on Instagram on March 18th that she’s been struggling to cope with a long-term illness. She explained that it’s been all-consuming and has made it difficult to be the mom she wants to be for the past two years, and she’s longing to feel like her old self again.
She also discussed the cause of her health problems, explaining they were triggered by long-term exposure to toxins, such as mold.
She explained that this health issue had completely changed her life. For over a year, she struggled with making eye contact, fearing people would notice her skin if she did. She shared that it’s something she continues to overcome.
